Usually order from the food truck but decided to support grand opening. I ordered online by typing their name into Google and I pressed order pickup. The order pickup gave me 2 options “Seamless” & “Grubhub.” The website gave me a receipt and track order number telling me what time it was ready. I reached here and order was not in their system. Did not receive a refund. I’m unsure how I ended up losing money through a transaction in attempt to support and get food.

First time going and likely the last. Ordered pork and it wasn’t ready. Would be good to know before ordering. They said 15 mins for the pork. After 30 mins they said 5 more mins. Another 30 mins I see they serving pork to others that came after me. Then wanted me to wait longer. Terrible service. Got a refund and left. Had also ordered jerk chicken which was decent.

Heard great things and finally decided to try it out. I ordered, waited for my food, and decided to snap a picture of the food truck where it had the name, number, and instagram handle… I was going to post it on my platform. I look to my left and a dark skin man dressed in all black is standing near the grill giving me the stankest look. After looking at the instagram page I assume that’s the owner? Not sure what he thought I was doing… but that’s no way to act. Got my food and left. Didn’t bother to post. That was weird.

I’ve been supporting this business for many years, going all the way back to when Jiggy, the owner, would show up at parties, neighborhoods, or even the Bravo parking lot. His jerk chicken has always been priced higher than most Jamaican spots, but I understood because he cooked it authentically on the grill. Back then, it was about $12, which felt fair for the quality.
However, the price increases in recent years have been unreasonable. Last year, when I saw him at Broward Meat & Fish, the price was $16. In 2024, he was at Payless and Broward Meat charging $17. Now, at the start of this year, it’s already $20. That’s a huge jump, and it feels like he’s taking advantage of the Black community, especially during tough times.
For $20, you’re not even getting a full meal—just some jerk chicken and two pieces of festival. No rice, no peas, no plantains. To make it worse, when I asked the cashier for extra sauce, I was told it would be another $1. After spending $20, that’s disappointing.
Supporting Black-owned businesses is important, but we also need to hold them accountable. Spending $80 for four portions of chicken, with such small sides, just doesn’t make sense—especially for a business that still doesn’t have a permanent location or the amenities of a sit-down restaurant. At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised if the price hits $25 or $30 by the end of the year.
As much as I’ve enjoyed Jiggy’s food over the years, I won’t be going back. I hope this feedback encourages some reflection because these prices are driving away loyal customers.

I reached out to Caribbean Pot on Wheels to bring their truck for a company event. I came to their usual location to purchase some of their menu items in advance and was very impressed. When I contacted them by email or phone, they were easy to work with and very responsive to questions about pricing and invoicing. As to the food and service, it was truly exceptional! They really do have the best jerk in South Florida, and that’s not all. Everyone that attended my event loved the various menu items, from fish to oxtails to delicious festival fresh from the fryer! Their team worked efficiently to get the orders out to everyone, and the portions did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend that any Broward locals go try this food truck, and if you’re looking to book a food truck for a company event, look no further! For authentic, delicious Jamaican cuisine and professional service, Caribbean Pot on Wheels is top notch.
