Bresson brings relaxed fine dining to the seaside village of Monkstown in a casual and comfortable setting since 2018 under the guidance of chef/patron Temple Garner. Classic French cuisine, great wine and customer satisfaction is paramount to the Bresson experience. We have taken great care and time to choose the best ingredients. We want to showcase our amazing Irish ingredients from our all parts of our island, from our top quality Irish beef to our local seafood, whilst also highlighting some incredible produce from other countries also. Celebrated my 50th Birthday in the private room upstairs. What an amazing space! The staff were very accommodating and attentive all through out the afternoon and the food was fantastic. Service was brilliant, even for a large party we had (25 guests) Well worth checking out. I will be back!

Fantastic meal here tonight, we couldn’t fault anything.
A proper neighbourhood restaurant, it’s at the top end of things but well worth the money. Amazing service, noting felt rushed but everything was prompt.
It’s important that places like this are supported.
The set menu has fantastic options and all the elements were great.

Arrived mid week in time for “pre theatre” meals. The 4 of us opted for 2 course. The starters, shared were delicious, the main meals, 3 different ones were all superb, and the desserts, shared, were also excellent. Our wine, a challis, was just right if a little pricey. The staff could not have been bettered. Friendly, efficient and welcoming. We will come again.

Our second visit here was even better than the first! The seafood is phenomenal – the crispy sea bass and tender scallops were perfection. The homemade cheesecake and ice cream were the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Love the early bird menu too, so many excellent choices. Will come regularly for sure!

what a wonderful experience !! we had been wanting to go to Bresson for some time and finally we were on the last saturday. the restaurant was partially occupied, respecting the limits of social distance. We were very well attended by Ash,. She gave us several tips, explained the dishes and was always around for any need. We ordered 3 courses meal, tofos they were delicious with emphasis on COQUILLE ST JAQUES and LEMON TART. we definitely highly recommend this restaurant.

We had our wedding dinner here after the ceremony and the team did an absolutely amazing job. The food, service and vibe was just perfect. For private dining the room is ideal and the decor was already perfect without us doing much. Being able to have our own music playlist as background made it feel special too, as well as simple things that you don’t get for most private rooms like dedicated bathroom and coats area. Will defintely be hosting as many things there as possible in the future – couldn’t recommend a spot more!

For mains we had the beef bourguignon and lobster egg royale. The beef itself was dry and tedious to get through, however everything else on the plate was excellently cooked and presented. The lobster with poached eggs was drowning in sauce and red peppers and the bagel it rested on was hard/stale and did nothing for the dish, I’d recommend they rest it in a soft brioche bun.
However the soup du jour and creme brulee were great. Service was pretty slow too but they did have a big party in the restaurant, so can’t fault them.

Good food with good service! During Christmas/new year times they offer a set menu with a good variety of options to pick from. What I mostly liked is the desert, make sure you get the chocolate mille feuille. Good place for special occasions if you have one. Busy most of the days so book in advance.
