This is a restaurant for the more adventurous people. Their line up of authentic Chinese food is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been to multiple places around the country but nothing has ever compared to here.
The staff is super friendly, genuinely passionate people who live what they do
The place is in a nice part of town so you can see so much of the place
This is my go to spot for lunch whenever I can. It’s absolutely the best in all avenues

The food is good but the place is awful
Spiderwebs are everywhere, unclean and seemed like abandoned place.also the woman that was working there gave me bill with 2 $extra, and after reviewing it she told me it was by mistake and gave me coke instead because she cannot turn money back.
Any way i don’t think so i will come again to this place just because of the quality of the place

I highly recommend this restaurant!!! The food was very good, especially the wonton soup. Our server was very kind.

I got spicy orange chicken and have a bad stomach so not quite able to eat spicy foods, called and he immediately corrected it even gave me a different type of chicken. Very great service, and definitely understands his customers. Went above and beyond and even sent someone out again to redeliver. So polite.

Literally the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life. The atmosphere is so calming and I seriously recommend the hot and sour soup. Best I’ve ever had.

The good news: the server was nice. The bad news: worse Chinese food we’ve ever ate. Ordered a combo meal and didn’t get an egg roll ( it was supposed to come with one). Placed an order of crab rangoon, supposed to have 6 and gave us 1. The egg rolls are tiny.

The food wasn’ t what we expected. Beef low mein did not taste like it should.. 2 out of 8 people food was good… Service was good, server try to accommodate us. But we laugh alot, didnt know what was coming out next. Leaving a funeral, laughing a lot did make it a happy place, even though food could of been better.

Horrible food. It’s too bland and overly greasy.

This place is pricey for what you get but they pack flavor into their homestyle cooking. Don’t be afraid to try something new or different as it’s all tastey. The food comes out lightning quick and the service has always been impeccable. My wife said “I feel like I’ve been lied to about Chinese food my whole life”.

Consistently delicious. They have maintained the same quality food since their move/rename (formerly Homestyle China Cafe?) and are still one of the best restaurants in Oxford.
If you enjoy spicy food, the boiled fish, chengdu chicken, and cumin potato will deliver. For a milder pallete — or even just for a cooldown between the dishes that have more szechuan heat — dishes like the pulled noodle and stir-fried bok choy with mushrooms are simple but well-executed. So far, not one menu item has disappointed me.
One final nod that I have never given to a Chinese restaurant: even their Americanized menu items are fantastic. Sesame chicken, shrimp and broccoli, etc. can be found at any Chinese restaurant and are generally a bland appeal to blander tastes. However, Happy Kitchen has somehow perfected even these options.
