Their space is warm, welcoming, and collaborative, I love popping in to chat with the staff and customers. The atmosphere is always so positive and genuine. And of course, I can’t forget to mention how good their coffee is! They take their craft and roasting process seriously, and it shows in every cup.
I love this business and everyone involved. Sarnia is lucky to have them!
The coffee? Next level. Every cup is rich, smooth, and brewed to perfection — you can really taste the care that goes into every roast. I tried an iced skinny vanilla oat latte and a date square – they were incredible. Their pastries and snacks are so fresh and delicious — perfect for pairing with a good book or a work session.
If you’re in the area (or even if you’re not), Backwater Coffee Co. is worth the trip. It’s more than just a coffee shop — it’s a community hub, a creative space, and a caffeine lover’s dream. Can’t recommend it enough!
Such a great find in Sarnia! The staff was super friendly, and the restaurant had such a great vibe with the decor, lively atmosphere and large open door with nice cool air coming in the warm weather. In regards to the food, we got a mocha latte and a dolly bar. The mocha latte was delicious, beautifully crafted and plentiful. The dolly bar was just amazing and we could not get enough. It was so sweet, had a great texture and the different ingredients mixed in so well, especially the chocolate chips.
Such a great treat and will be back to get more!
I loved the vibe inside and would love to come back to sit down and do some work/spend some time here. When the weather’s nice, the front windows open up, and the boundary between indoor/outdoor space is blurred; amazing!
While I was getting my beans, I decided to try their Vietnamese Iced Coffee, since that is primarily what I’ve been making at home and mostly intended to make with these beans. Somehow, their version tasted WAY better than I’ve ever made it at home; I have no idea how.
Thanks for being such a positive addition to the area!
