Came here on a whim and it did not disappoint! We did wait a while but they were very busy and only had one server, so the wait time could be different on another day. We ordered the Philly cheesesteak with fries and it was SO GOOD. There’s outdoor seating and dogs are allowed, if you’re going and it’s cold just know that some of their heaters weren’t working. Oh and they have a personal dog menu which I loved. Overall, I recommend it and cannot wait to go back and try some more menu items out!

Really enjoyed myself here for lunch. Sat at the bar. Whisky sour was on point as well as the shrimp poyboy, fries were crisp but not crunchy. Waitress was super nice and accommodating. Too cool to sit outside, but they have a pretty nice outdoor area. Must visit while downtown!

We stopped in for a quick app and a drink before walking around town and honestly, the place was OK. There weren’t many people as it was early in the afternoon so it was quite and the upstairs had a TV, but it was weirdly sitting out of place like we showed up late to a viewing party. The outside however looked awesome and would love to spend a chill evening there. Unfortunately it was HOT, so that wasn’t great.
The margaritas were good, (no idea what the house tequila is, but it was decent) and the nachos topping were great but the chips seem like they came from a bag delivered by US Foods. I would encourage them to come up with something else for the nachos.
Overall it was a pleasant, quiet visit and the server was great.

We’ve been several times on a weekend but this was our first visit on a weekday. I was worried it would be too hot for my dogs but there was a huge fan so my pups were very comfortable. They brought ice water and dog biscuits for dogs before anything else which made us happy and dogs settled right down. There was even a doggie menu. Husband got fish tacos and I had burger with mango salsa with zucchini on the side. Everything was outstanding. Even the sweet tea was some of the best I’ve ever had. Server Jayden was excellent. Entire experience was perfect.
Edit – 8/31/25 we went to Michael’s again today and the food was phenomenal. I wish there was a sign on the patio reminding people dogs are allowed. Today we sat between two tables of visitors who made unkind comments about the fact we had dogs. I guess they didn’t realize the patio was dog friendly.

We never knew this place was here even though it’s in the business district, it’s right on the outskirts between the municipal buildings and the boat docks. It was tough to find a parking spot nearby, but I’m glad we got one about two blocks away. We needed the exercise after our meal here. It’s a converted residence, so the inside is small, but out back are several patios and a large courtyard. Some of the tables have upholstered chairs, some canvas, some metal, and an overall eclectic but comfortable atmosphere, The next thing we noticed was that many of the tables had dogs quietly sitting under them. This is very pet friendly. Our server was Tonya, and she was nothing short of fantastic. She treated us like long lost friends. Oh yeah, might as well mention the food. It’s geared to Jamaican style fare. My daughter got the jerk burger and it had to be about 6″ high.(see one of the attached photos) No way a human can get their mouth around it! Two of us had pub burgers which were normal size, and I got jerk pork with sweet potato fries and slaw. It was all tasty and well seasoned. If you’re not into authentic jerk style, it may be a bit much, but we loved every bite. We will be back!!!

We really like Michael’s Pub and Patio. They have a very good selection on their menu. We stopped in on Tuesday and got the special. Wow! The flounder sandwiches were outstanding. We really like to support local businesses so Michael’s is a frequent stopping point. Check out their daily specials for lunch. I highly recommend you give them a try.

Such a great bar and restaurant with a charming atmosphere. Loved to music (lively but not too loud). The staff was quite friendly, helpful and the service exceptional. The food was delicious. The meatball marinara appetizer and the hamburger plate (smothered with gravy, onions and French fries) was wonderfully tasty.Yum! I so enjoyed the Bold Rock cider and beer. The draft beer cups are takeaway items and are biodegradable. If you are visiting beautiful and welcoming New Bern, be sure to stop by at Michael’s. You will love it!

Highly recommend stopping by and giving Michael’s Pub a try! On a whim, we stopped in on dreary Friday for lunch and were super pleased with our experience. We got the nachos and club sandwich to split, which were both delicious and a decent portion size. We ended up needing a box to carry home leftovers. The club was probably one of the best ones we’ve had in a while! Our server, Daphne, was wonderful and told us about their live music/events, outdoor patio, and even shared their dog menu with us. We definitely plan to visit again with our pups for another great experience!
