I visited the area to get a feel for the town and arrived around lunchtime. Before exploring the city, I decided to stop by Scopazzi’s Restaurant and Lounge — the reviews were promising, and the photos on Google Maps made it look like a classy, old-school spot.

When I walked in, there were a few groups already dining, but it wasn’t crowded. The atmosphere felt relaxed and the space had an old, historic charm that suggested it’s been a local favorite for years.

I ordered the Scopazzi’s Special Cheeseburger and the Spaghetti Bolognese. The spaghetti was decent — nothing remarkable, but comforting enough. The burger, however, was a bit of a letdown. The patty was slightly overcooked on the outside, which took away from the overall flavor and texture. I was hoping for something juicier, especially with the “special” label.

That said, the service was good. The waitress was attentive and friendly, and overall, the experience felt welcoming. While the food didn’t fully impress me this time, the ambiance and local feel made it worth the visit.

Might consider returning to try something else on the menu next time. ( Or not )

I’ve been going there for many years, It’s been through a lot of transitions and definitely one of my favorite places to go. I want them to stay open and I want them to get back to what they were before, that is why I am posting this.
Before when you would sit down they would put a little dish of Italian olives and such to munch on. The lights were dim and candlelight for ambiance. The tableside tossed Caesar was done with such care in a big wooden bowl and so big and delicious….. I did notice this last couple times I went everything was smaller….. And I don’t think lettuce is that expensive. Also the croutons were not homemade anymore as far as I could tell they had no flavor…… That is one thing about how Scoppazi’s used to be is everything was just so self fresh and delicious. Definitely get back to how it was & make it a production! The last 3 times I’ve been there the service was quite lacking, Poor interest in the customers unless they were regulars and they knew them then they’d be chatting them up but what about us that don’t get to go out that much and it’s a special occasion? We would like that sort of attention too. And just the last time we went it was very lacking and there was so many staff just kind of lingering around the kitchen.
The portions and presentation on the plates were spectacular….. Before, I could never think of anything better than going to Scopazzi’s and getting the rack of lamb or appetizers or anything it was always the best presentation, flavor, abundant & sauces & gravy & always left full.
Last couple times I went there was absolutely no decoration on the plate, very bland, and all the portions were very tiny – literally left hungry & unsatisfied. I consider Scopazzi’s a 4 star and they need to get back to what they were – the best!

Could use some updating but very classic dining environment. Nice decorative touches. Could be a good romantic dinner.

Good mix of creativity and traditional food. Flavorful and enjoyable. The Cabernet by the glass were both terrible. Very fusty and unknowable, almost tasting like is is about to turn. Does not meet the standards of everything else. Staff was friendly and gave good service.

Well, the food tasted like they washed the pans but did not rinse. We had soapy flavored food. I don’t believe they have a trained bartender. We ordered drinks and they tasted horrible. Nothing like they should taste. Servers were excellent hosts but I think that is about it. We will not be going back.

Ok so walked in the place has a cool atmosphere old school setting that had me thinking this was going to be a nice experience, then the food came……..I always order Ravioli at Italian restaurants as a gauge on their quality, this was one notch above Chef Boyardee and I wish I was kidding. My wife had the arugula salad and her chicken was at best two days old and dried to about the same age. Kinda a bummer could be an awesome place. Won’t be back. Service was friendly enough no complaints there.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Was greeted and seated immediately. Ordered and food was brought out promptly. I had a French Dip and fries. It was delicious!! Wife had Steak and Eggs that she enjoyed very much. The place does need some updating inside though. And there were some flies buzzing around that were annoying. Overall I recommend them!

We went to Scopazzis last night for dinner. It was Father’s Day, so I can understand a full house backing up the kitchen. It would have been nice for the waitstaff to acknowledge the delay, apologizing for the wait and periodically checking in with us. We were uncomfortable having to ask about the hold up. We received our meals 75 minutes after ordering. When they arrived, both of our filet’s were quite overdone. Not wanting to wait any longer, we ate what they delivered. My bf’s seven year old ordered spaghetti, pretty simple. It was so salty she could barely eat it, taking a drink of water after each bite. It was a nice idea and it’s a beautiful atmosphere in the restaurant; but we won’t be back anytime soon.

Midweek breakfast, opens 10:30am, was there on a Thurs morning. 3 of us, seated in the bar area, seated as soon as they opened. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, it was so good my friend went back next day and got the same thing.

I’ve been patronizing Scopazzis since I moved to Boulder Creek in 1989. I moved to Oregon in 2017, so I missed out for that many years. Great to dine at Scopazzi’s again.
