Social Profile:

In the early 1980s, our parents made a transformative decision to revitalize a dilapidated restaurant and turn it into a highly profitable establishment. Their vision was to create a welcoming atmosphere and serve simple, yet delicious Cambodian dishes for the local community to savor. Initially, the establishment was quite modest, earning it the nickname The Shack. With only five tables available, the space was cramped and movement was challenging. However, word began to spread, and by the late 1980s, this restaurant had gained significant recognition within the Asian community.

PhnomPenh Noodle Shack is hands down the best noodle spot I’ve had in America! If you’re a fan of bold flavors, hearty portions, and comforting soup dishes — this place is a must-visit.

The bowls are huge — seriously generous portions loaded with noodles, a variety of meats, and rich, flavorful soup. Every bite is satisfying and packed with authentic Cambodian flavor. It’s the kind of meal that leaves you full, happy, and already thinking about your next visit.

Beyond the food, the vibe is awesome — casual, welcoming, and full of character. There’s great background music, the energy is relaxed, and the staff are super friendly and helpful, adding to the overall experience.

It’s also very cost-effective — you get incredible quality and a massive portion for a very fair price. It’s rare to find a place that offers such great value while still delivering top-tier flavor and service.

The food was absolutely amazing!! the staff was very patient and explained all the condiments and the menu items to us as it was our first time. I would highly recommend the beef and meatball with thick rice noodles. The broth was really flavorful and all the sauces available tasted great.

Authentic Cambodian spot that is a staple in the community. This restaurant has been around since my partner was a kid, and it is nice to hear that they have been here for so long. They offer great and affordable prices on huge portions.

I particularly had the Mo special with the broth on the side. The spareribs that is in the broth is so tender that the meat falls off the both with just a poke. The noodles is soft and mixes well with the proteins. The flavor is on point and better than I had anywhere else.

The staff are very friendly, and the kitchen moves really fast. We waited just a few minutes for a table and a few minutes for our food after we ordered.

Looking forward to coming back when I am in Long Beach!

First time trying Cambodian noodles, thanks to a local friend’s recommendation. The place has a cozy vibe — packed with Cambodian locals even during a late weekday lunch, which says a lot.

We ordered the house special noodles, which come with a bowl of flavorful broth and a big bone on the side, plus the tomato noodle soup. Both were delicious. I especially loved the liver in the house special — wish I had asked for extra.

Both soups were completely new flavors to me, but I enjoyed them both. Prices are very affordable, especially for how much food you get.

I got the beef stew noodles, and the broth was rich and complex! The tripe and pieces of beef were tender. We also got pork rice porridge and ca quai. The porridge had a good broth at its base, and the offal was prepared well without any unwanted flavors. The car quai was fresh an had good texture combining fluffy and crispy. We got some sides to complement everything too!

We ordered their special dry noodle, but unfortunately, it was too sweet for our taste, and the noodles were overcooked. The restaurant’s location in a poor neighborhood and has no parking, made street parking a challenge.

You have such good food. Fresh ingredients! Honestly I have been eating Thai food since the late 70s. Cambodia and Thai food are like sisters. I drive 40 minutes to eat your food. Please keep up the great restaurant food and hey please open up a restaurant in the South Bay!

This restaurant is a hidden gem, at least for me lol. I had no idea of its existence until my friend took me here. The food is so good! I ordered the house special dry noodles and I recommend you to order the dry noodles as they give you an extra bowl of soup accompanied by the noodles which was really good! I really love this restaurant but the fact that it was super super hard to find a parking spot made me not want to come back here. I wish they could rent a bigger place with more spots because the food was really amazing.
Definitely recommend!

Note to people who has never been here, sign in on the tablet right outside the door. I’ve witnessed so many people come in just to get told that. We decided to eat here during our visit to Long Beach, we waited an hour to get in. They accommodated our bigger table pretty well once we got inside. The food was delicious, and service was great. It could get a bit warm eating here during the summer, and having your face over hot soup doesn’t help the case. lol
