Wonderful restaurant and a great burger.

– Deluxe Brisket-Burger – $14: The almost half-pound (7oz) patty was higher quality, juicy, and cooked perfectly. The Muenster cheese was recommended and an excellent choice for most American tastes. The toppings were a little wet, but fresh. The sauces were forgotten, but brought out after I asked. The bun was toasted and fairly good. Overall, I loved it.

– Chips (came with the meal): Standard. Probably from a store bought bag.

– Tossed Salad (came with the meal): Small, but packed. The dressings selection is huge and some are homemade by them. The ranch was good, but a little on the liquidy side.

– Service: Helpful and engaging staff. Reasonably quick.

– Atmosphere: Old country-like dining with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Wood tables and chairs, seating for two or four at each table. The building was a grocery store converted in 1988 into what it is today. Its history is humble but spanning many years.

– Conclusion: It is a must for many reasons. The burger is one of them.

Visited on a Saturday at 1pm.

My son and I stopped in for breakfast on Saturday 3/7. While there was quite the delay to get our food, our server was extremely pleasant, a very personable young man, very hospitable (his name is Cole). There was a little “mishap” with the omelet I ordered, but the Manager (very kind blonde woman) had the cook remake it immediately and it was AMAZINGLY good! Their ingredients are obviously fresh and the cook did a great job putting it together. The Manager even had my omelet removed from the bill due to the mishap, although that was not necessary. Will always choose The Gathering Place when in the area- thank you to the staff for being so accommodating, gracious and hospitable!

Though I’ve known about it for 15, this is the first time I’ve finally stopped in for breakfast. Tucked away in a side road not far from the end of 28th Street makes for a nice not so out of the way location.
Inside is a quaint rustic vibe. Well kept and just enough decor makes for a warm environment. The dining area has a two seating areas, with both being about equal in size. They have a case with a small selection of baked goods, which likely offers more selections during the Summer and Holiday seasons.
Staff is constantly on the move, and always pleasant. My waitress did commendable at keeping my coffee refreshed (and very hot) while waiting for breakfast to arrive. They serve fresh cream with and have the usual sweetener option packets at the table should you want.
Seeing the kitchen was serving both sides, and about twenty guests when I arrived, the wait time was average (about 10 minutes) for my food to arrive. The omelette I chose was nicely prepared. They were not skimpy on any of the ingredients making it a great value. They also were cooked just enough to have a nice texture. If you are used to typical roadside diners you may find the veggies a little watery. This is not a complaint as I thoroughly enjoyed all of my omelette before delighting in the sourdough toast. The eggs were prepared clean and had no hint of being overly oiled or buttered in their cooking. The toast had a nice crispness, was not burnt, and lightly buttered on one side. Jam at the table was the standard 1/2 oz prepackaged variety, but other options were available (like cream cheese) for a nominal charge.
In short, this is a nice stop and I would not hesitate bringing family, clients, or friends for a meal.

Good basic breakfast. I enjoyed my omelet. I would definitely recommend the cinnamon roll. It was served warm and was soft. The decor felt like you were going to visit grandmas house for breakfast. I loved the atmosphere.

This place will take you back in time to your grandmother’s kitchen and dining room where the while family gathered for big meals. The hardwood floors and wood ceiling beams are an excellent change from the stoic chain restaurants. Sun poured through the lace shears on the windows with cascading floral curtains. The tables were solid wood with comfy Amish like chairs. And the menu always diverse. I’ll have to go back at least 17 more times to try the other items I couldn’t this trip.
I finally decided on the chilli omelet with the creamiest hot coco I’ve ever tasted. My husband ordered a spinach mushroom burrito. The servings were big but not so big you felt too stuffed to walk back to the car. The quality of the food is above average. The omelet wasn’t overcooked like some restaurants. It was fluffy, fresh and rich tasting.
This is by far the most charming and welcoming place I’ve been. I can’t believe it took this long to finally stop in.

Good food, good size portions. Kirstie did an excellent job monitoring 4-5 tables while we, as a family of 7, ate there. Watershed coffees stayed topped off

We found this restaurant online. It definitely gives you the southern hospitality vibes. Our waitress Candace made us feel home and comfortable. All the employees had on their mask for safety protocols during COVID and customers were spaced out accordingly.

Our food was hot, fresh and delicious! I will visit again the next time we are in town. I highly recommend this restaurant!
