I can’t believe my husband and I have lived here for almost 6 years now and had never tried this place. We went on Saturday for the first time which happened to be all you can eat crab legs! So we jumped right in. You get all you can eat crab legs, with two sides and are also endless as well. Our waitress was the bomb. I wish we had paid more attention and got her name. She was super attentive, but relaxed and just made us feel at home. Complementary hush puppies with butter, tasted great. Italian salad dressing is nice and creamy rather than oil with some spices thrown in. The shrimp cocktail probably could pass on not because it didn’t taste great, but because it was $10 and you get 5 jumbo shrimp. My husband loved the sauce. The coleslaw and fries were great! Coleslaw tasted homemade. And the crab legs where everything we wanted them to be and more. ($56 per person for all you can eat.) Drinks were great. We just had the best time in a relaxed atmosphere and absolutely can not wait to go back. We’ll absolutely be regulars! I’m upset we’ve been missing out on this place for so long!

Calabash is the best seafood restaurant in town. They’ve updated the interior decor since I have last eaten there. Since I moved back to Mechanicsville, I wanted to visit. I had the crab cakes and they were delicious! My friend got shrimp scampi which really needed more garlic. My landlubber friend had the chicken parmesan and he cleaned the plate. Of course the hush puppies were great too. Reasonably priced, wonderful family run restaurant, friendly staff. Always a go-to place.

Several negative reviews had me concerned. But our party of 15 was very happy with the place. The hush puppy bowl was great. We had a terrific waitress who had fun with us and vice versa. So kept us plied with drinks and the broiled seafood platter was delicious. We would be happy to return.

Fairly quick service, food came out at a reasonable time. The only issue we had was one of our groups order was never made so we had to wait a little longer.

The food was great. I got the regular fried shrimp platter ,baked potato and green beans. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. The green beans was well seasoned and the Shrimp were very good. The waitress was nice and friendly. She done an excellent job.

Recently went when they were having all you can eat shrimp. They offered them three different ways, and the fried shrimp was the best I’ve ever had anywhere!! light breading and so tender, just delicious! Have been several times and each time the food is always great!

Best seafood restaurant in town. Prices are moderate but portions are very generous. Service is always good. The place has a lot of tables, but they aren’t always in use. The decor really hasn’t changed in the last 30 years or so, but it’s nice with several aquariums to look at.

I enjoyed the hush puppies that come out complementary. I ordered the fried boneless chicken breast with a side of green beans and the vegetable of the day which was sweet potato casserole. My 2 sides were good but the chicken breast was OK. I didn’t eat all of it. I did have a very nice waitress so that made my experience there very pleasant.

We had a very good seafood meal for the price. Crab legs were well prepared and tender. Plenty of hush puppies and good service. We will definitely return. $16.95 for crab leg petite dinner with 2 clusters and 2 sides.
