Amazing food! Very fresh and natural, waiters are very funny and kind, definitely worth the 45 minute drive. Their beef ribs and their tofu seafood soup is on top. Best asian restaurant I’ve ever been to. Hoping they locate to a bigger restaurant their potential is high.

I recently visited Chodang Tofu House in Mount Prospect, and it was absolutely amazing! The food was phenomenal— I ordered the Binbinbang and the baby octopus soup, and both were bursting with flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was just as impressive, with friendly, attentive staff who made the experience even better. The cozy atmosphere added to the charm. If you’re craving authentic, delicious Korean cuisine, this spot is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!

Great authentic place. As soon as I walked in and was the only white dude in the place with everyone speaking Hongul, I knew it was going to be good. Went there twice on a business trip and got the dolsot bibimbap (they call it something different) and the bulgogi. Great both times. The gochujang sauce is the best I’ve had.

Chodang Tofu House is an ideal stop for comforting Korean food, especially if you’re flying in or out of O’Hare—it’s just 15 minutes from the airport. Their kimchi + pork Soondubu Jjigae is an absolute must-try. The tofu is luxuriously silky, the broth rich and flavorful, and the bits of pork add a perfect savory bite. I got it regular spicy and as a Latino, I’d say it was pretty mild—I’ll definitely crank it up to a 4/5 next time. There’s a wide variety of Jjigae options, so soup lovers will have no shortage of choices. We also ordered a small portion of the Galbi short ribs, which were tender, well-marinated, and packed with sweet-savory depth. It made a perfect protein pairing to the stew and was easily shareable between two people. The banchan (side dishes) were fresh, flavorful, and rounded out the meal beautifully. All in all, this spot is perfect for warming your soul with a steaming bowl of stew and some classic Korean flavors—whether it’s your first meal in Chicago or a last comforting bite before takeoff.

I’ve been here a few times before. The food is hit or miss — some days it’s decent, other days the seasoning is just bad. But last night was absolutely the final straw for me and my friends.
It felt like the staff only cared about taking our money, not serving customers. The customer service was rude and rushed from the moment our food came out.
We had been eating for less than 30 minutes since the food was served, and we had not even finished our meal, yet they were already trying to push us out. We were basically forced to leave and walked out at 8:03 PM because of how aggressively they rushed us.
If you don’t want to accept customers at that time, then don’t seat them in the first place. Don’t take people’s money and then deny them the chance to finish their meal.
Very poor service and extremely disappointing experience. Will not be coming back, and I do not recommend this place to anyone.

One of our favorite places around for comfort Korean food. We always get the tofu stew and it is the best around. Layers of flavor and warms the soul. If you eat there, the stew comes out boiling hot and you get to crack an egg into it. What a treat. Give it a try!

Update: they have a new menu item, grilled intestines, which is so well seasoned and flavorful that I ate like 2 extra bowls of rice with it alone. Even if you’ve never tried intestines or are hesitant, you should 100% give it a try! The kimchi dumplings alone are worth the visit but everything on the menu is amazing! The galbi tang is a new menu item – someone told me it’s the best in Chicago and they were right. Amazing staff, great atmosphere!

Great spot for a nice korean traditional silk tofu soup. Very customizable with protein and styles as well as spice level and even what type of grain of rice you want. Would recommend for the cold winter.

I had oyster soondubu with regular spicy which was extremely tasty. Side dishes served with were also very Korean. Attentive service made my visit a worthwhile. I am wondering if there is a better soondubu place in Chicago than Chodang.
