This is one of the closet meals I have found to a true creole restaurant in Colorado. The family owned restaurant has ties to the south and you can taste it in every bite. We started with the gumbo fries and catfish platter to share. They had a muffaluta salad that was like a charcuterie board in a bowl, catfish and boiled crawfrishl with cheese grits and red beans and rice. Shrimp and grits with crawfish tails was so rich and amazing. This will definitely be in our restaurant rotation.

Very pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! Don’t let the location fool you, the atmosphere, staff, (and most importantly, the food) are wonderful. I had the gumbo fries and the fried shrimp po boy. The food was hot, fresh, seasoned perfectly, and the portions are huge! Very affordable too. The peach cobbler is delicious! I will definitely be back.

Let’s be clear that this restaurant opened very recently. For anyone to be dragging it down, has probably never been in the industry. I went in because I had randomly seen it on the map near a meeting I was at, no clue they just opened up. Items on the on-line menu were not available but there was plenty of delicious food items they were putting out. My shrimp po-boy was delicious with cheesy grits on the side. I tried some of the gumbo that was good. Great spice to it. The fried catfish and okra was another one of my favs. No dessert yet but excited to try it once they have it out consistently. I will 100% come back to this place and you should check it out. The staff was very friendly!
As far as atmosphere, I have it a 5. Not because it’s amazing but because it’s in a strip mall. There isn’t a whole lot you can do with the place but the staff was friendly so I’m giving them a 5.

BEST GUMBO IN COLORADO
Denver has always lacked authentic creole cooking, and this joint fills the void.
I felt at home the second I walked into the cafe – featuring cozy bourbon street style decor, with a Colorado flare.
I was served by Kiwi at the bar rail, who just as delightful as the wonderful food!
I had never experienced such developed flavors from a dish cooked in Colorado before eating the gumbo here.
Incredibly authentic, and absolutely delicious. I plan on bringing my office mates by soon, and would recommend the same to anybody who appreciates creole cooking.

I placed an online order successfully through their online system on Friday. My card was charged and I was sent a confirmation email and text for my order. When I arrived to the location to pick up my food, the restaurant was closed. This place is out of my way but I heard good things so I wanted to try it; figured the drive would be worth it. I wasted my time and money because I was given zero indication that the business was closed. I understand local/small business sometimes need to close for unexpected circumstances but then there needs to be a way to close their online ordering system when those events arise. I hesitated leaving a review because I was waiting for them to respond to my respectful email asking for a refund but it’s been a good couple of days and it’s been radio silence. I still have not gotten my money back for food I never received. I don’t normally enjoy leaving bad reviews but I don’t want this to happen to anyone else…

Colorado Creole Café will have you sayin’, “Pappa who?” This cozy and comfortable café serves wonderful, flavorful food. In a state that often struggles with Southern cooking, this restaurant does it in spades. Whether you’re craving gumbo, catfish, or a po’ boy, you’ll get a great meal at a great price. So, if you want delicious Southern food cooked with love, head to Colorado Creole Café!

Ordered shrimp po boy and husband ordered jambalaya. He said his was good but didn’t have enough flavor. The poboy was ok. No flavor on the shrimp. The bread fell apart way to easily so I. Basically just picked the shrimp off and ate just that.
The atmosphere….very blah. Nothing to look at. It was just the two of us most of the t I me we were there and we couldnt get the guys attention to get a refill, napkins or anything else.
Just needs a few little kinks worked out and it would be fine.

The food took a bit to get, but it could be. They were just really busy and they make the food fresh as you order it. I hope this place sticks around, it’s hard to find a good po-boy here in Denver and I thought the shrimp. Oh boy was awesome. I got the half sandwich with fries and a drink for $14 and the sandwich was huge!
