We came here to celebrate my dad’s birthday and to break fast during Ramadan and the waitress was very understanding and brought the food out right on time to break fast
The food here was amazing. I love the garlic knot chicken Parm sandwiches and pretzels.
The waitress was super cool, accommodating, and quick to clean up the table once we were done eating .
I ordered the garlic knot chicken parm sliders. They were so flavorful! Not at all dry, too. Would order these again.
My husband ordered the Texas philly and it was delicious. Can’t go wrong with that one. The fries were also tasty.
Definitely try this place!
Tonight, I took my family of 3 to eat dinner at Common Table. Wednesday nights are trivia night so you can eat food and play a game of trivia. The trivia host was friendly and walked around table to table to get more people to participate in the game.
Now, when it comes to service that’s another story.
We ordered a starter and 3 entrees. Everything was fine until my wife’s food had a hair in it. We didn’t even make a big deal, just patiently waited for our server, Jasmine J, to come by our table. My wife told her there was a hair in the mashed potatoes (as seen in the picture). Keep in mind we hadn’t even touched the food yet. Didn’t take a bite or anything. We saw the hair right away and waited for it to be acknowledged.
When we brought the hair to our waitress, Jasmine’s attention she doesn’t say a single word; just picked up the plate. Looked at it closely. And walked off with the food.
She didn’t say anything, acknowledge us, apologize for the inconvenience, offer something else to eat, or to grab the manager. She comes back a few minutes later to tell us the kitchen is remaking the food.
Okay, so in the moment we looked past this and thought the worst was behind us. Wrong.
When all three of us are almost done eating, Jasmine comes back to our table and just starts pulling the plates off the table. She didn’t say anything like, “Excuse me, are you done? Is it okay if I take these plates away?” Once again silence.
I had to stop her so I could grab the bowl of coleslaw that came with my meal off the plate. At that moment I hadn’t even tried the coleslaw yet. She started taking the other plates, until we stopped her to ask for to-go boxes.
Once again, we tried looking past this too. People make mistakes. Couldn’t get worse could it?
Now comes the time to pay the bill. Cool, no problem I’m ready to pay. I hand Jasmine a coupon (Buy 1 entree, Get 1 entree). Keep in mind, Common Table, sends these coupons out to your mailbox. I’ve included a picture for reference. This is my second visit, and the first visit the server was much better, and gladly took the coupon. Well, tonight was different. The moment I hand Jasmine the coupon she’s already telling me I can’t use it. So I ask why? And she tells me it’s because I didn’t buy enough entrees.
This caught me off guard and I was confused if I should laugh or be confused. The coupon says buy 1, get 1. I’m buying 3 entrees and 1 starter. That qualifies to use the coupon your business mailed to me (attached picture – we received brunch & dinner coupons). After everyone at the table looked confused, I guess she thought about it and said we could use it. This was an interesting moment for me because it felt like a moment when someone was so ready to deny you something without thinking first. Just ready to say no for any reason.
Well, at this point surely there’s nothing else that could happen right?
So she goes to the back, corrects the ticket. Cool. Now I’m ready to pay. She hands me the card reader so I can tap my card, which is fine but when it’s time to select a tip amount she’s standing over my shoulder. Like can I have some space . I felt pressured to select a certain tip amount despite the hit or miss service.
Common Table management, if you’re reading this please know as customers we are doing you a favor by patronizing your business. The place is not full and there are many empty tables during the week. When service is bad, I’m much less likely to ever return because there are tons of restaurants in this area.
View the pictures to view the hair in the food.
Went here for brunch on a Sunday. Wait was 30mins.. not unreasonable.
This is not a place to have brunch with kids. This is also not a place for brunch if you’re looking to have a conversation as well.
Music was too loud, giving it a club vibe. If that’s what you’re looking for, then that’s what you’ll get.
The reasons for 1 star is non of that. It was the service and food.
Server forgot several items, and we had to ask for it and remind him. They also mixed up the chicken biscuit order for 2 people. As you can see in the pictures, the chicken was VERY dry and the biscuit was basically burned. Bloody Mary was just V8 and ice.. no alcohol.
Actually i got picture and wanted to say THANK YOU Common Table Team, Always the Best!!!
