Not sure what to get, I knew to go for more protein and less carbs. I settled for the soft tofu + galbi. The menu showed two bowls. They gave me a full course meal–at the price of one dish next door!
When I started going down on my meal, I had no idea what I was doing. But they didn’t judge me. I felt comfortable eating my meal however I wanted to. I was so bad, I didn’t even notice the raw egg that was supposed to be cracked into the boiling tofu soup. When I shared that with them, they just said, “No worries, we’ll just heat it up for you.” So I cracked my egg in and they sent it off.
Upon return, the dish was full again like it was a new, fresh dish! Wow. Thanks, ChoDang!
You know the food is good and your satisfied…when you’re sweating and feeling warm all over. That was me–runny nose and all.
I gotta admit. The place is more expensive than I’m comfortable with. But compared to other places, you do get more bang out of your bucket. Thank you so much Chodang!
Parking was a little crowded as there’s another restaurant to the side of it with similar hours and a 24-hour donut spot in the same area.
My only tiny and very personal complaint was that it was extremely cold inside. Since it’s primarily soup, I understand it cools it since they serve it boiling, but just a little note to mention if you get cold easily like me.
I ordered the dumpling soft tofu soup in mild and it was full of flavor.
The restaurant is small and clean. The service is friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking to be had.
Everything we had was delicious with authentic Korean flavors. I always love all the traditional Korean side dishes. They do not skimp and even have two small fish! So many places have removed that from the sides offered.
They have lunch combos available M-F.
I ordered T14, tofu and mushrooms.
A friend ordered the short ribs. Buddy said not a lot of Korean restaurants do short ribs like this so it’s unique to this particular restaurant.
Complimentary side dishes and rice. Everything was delicious. We will be coming back here after our group movie nights !
Hot Stone Bibimbap
Beef Short Rib Soondubu
Seafood Pancake
Fried Dumpling
Pork Cutlet
Ever since I discovered Cho Dang last year, it’s become a staple in my local restaurant rotation. Chodang in Cerritos hits the spot when you’re craving comforting, cozy Korean eats. Their popular soondubu is rich, flavorful, and served boiling hot, just the way it should be. The sizzling stone pot bibimbap has the most perfect crispy rice layer on the bottom. Other dishes we tried included the donkatsu/pork cutlet and the seafood pancake.
Each and every item was delicious! There was nothing I would change about any of the food I had. It was and is always the perfect cozy meal. Service is great as well, and the portions are extremely generous. Hope you can try Cho Dang soon if you haven’t already!
We ordered a soju and a Korean rice wine. Both were delicious and got us ready for food.
The bachan was plentiful and delicious. I love kimchi and it was so crisp and flavorful.
To start we got the seafood pancake which is large and more than enough for my friend and I’m we took some home with us. It was crisp and the seafood was delicious.
Next we had a bulgolgi bibimbap. Another portion and was quite filling and flavorful.
We ended with an army stew. It said it was 2 servings but we could have fed 4 people. Spicy, hot, and absolutely filling.
Service was super helpful and friendly. Would totally recommend and come back to.
However, service is inattentive and understaffed, even by standards of dililst restaurants. We usually dine in, but decided to try Seamless. They had completed my order, but never marked it. I’d not have known if I did not flag down servers multiple times. There were other orders also sitting unmarked.
Again, food is good, but you get a strong feeling that they don’t value your business, ir timely service in general. Not sure if I’ll be back again
We were happy with our orders. Service was ok and the parking was a bit small and crowded.
