The only reason this establishment received two stars is because their service & their margaritas were good. My Fiancé and I food was far from good. This was literally both of our meals after we slightly touched them. Looking at the photos of the other meals in their reviews definitely upset me. This is the worst Mexican Food restaurant we’ve ever been too and the only one we’ve ever had a bad experience at. Oh btw these were supposed to be highly recommended meals “the tour of Mexico” & “tamales”…..

Good spot to stop on the way to Athens. Decent food. I tried the cheese enchilada, chicken soft taco and ground beef hard shell taco. The cheese dip was yummy. Friendly service. No wait.

My family and I dined at Las Margarita’s on 2/6/2026. We’ve eaten here before and usually receive good service, which is why this experience was so disappointing.

The owner took our order and appeared to be our waiter for the evening. Once our food was delivered, we did not see him again. For an extended period, no one checked on our table—not the owner, not any waitstaff—to see if we needed refills, additional items, or assistance.

Eventually, a waitress came by and we asked for a to-go box and our receipt. After waiting another 5–10 minutes with no return, I noticed she was attending to other tables while we were still waiting. We then had to stop the owner again to ask for the same items. He brought the to-go box, but still no receipt.

At that point, the lack of attention had become frustrating. I went to the front desk and waited for someone to come assist me. with The manager came over and I expressed my disappointment in the service we received. He did apologize, which I appreciated, but the situation should not have reached that point.

What made this experience especially uncomfortable is that my family and I were the only African American guests in the restaurant at the time. Most other customers were white, and the staff was Hispanic. While I cannot say definitively what the cause was, the level of neglect we experienced made us feel overlooked and possibly discriminated against, which is deeply concerning.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously. Consistent, respectful service should be provided to every guest, regardless of who they are. Unfortunately, this visit did not reflect the standard we’ve experienced here in the past.

Just OK. Not Good, But Not bad. The Food had no flavor. I had the Chorizo Queso and the Taste of Mexico. They seemed to use the same ground meat in the Enchilada, Hard Shell Taco (How is the Mexican?) and the chalupa. The rice was the lunch rice they seemed to just have leftover keeping warm for dinner.

Service was OK. Like the food, just good… nothing special.

For the prices it wasn’t worth it and we won’t return.

Nice place. I enjoyed the food and the cozy atmosphere, the walls are painted with scenes from a laid-back rural Mexico farm. Music was excellent.

The service was impeccable. The staff was amazing and focused. We came in before the dinner rush (outside has a patio). During our stay, I heard the manager tell his employees to reassemble the tables because of an upcoming large party.

My only suggestion is that the food could come in bigger portions, especially the sides. The rice comes in the smallest circular serving.

The mezcal was on point. It was cheaper than the others I am used to by 50%.

My husband & I are performers & were starving after a July 4th fire gig, but I was hesitant to dine in anywhere looking crazy & covered in sweat. I’m SO glad we decided to eat here (found on Maps) everyone was great, the food was some of the absolute best we’ve ever had & served surprisingly fast. We’d never had pineapple guacamole before, but it really adds a refreshing kick. We’ll have to find an excuse to go back to Winder (about an hour drive) if only to eat here again! Highly recommend!

We just had dinner here and the experience was very lacking. We ordered 2 shrimp taco meals and a bowl of homemade guac. It’s a Thursday night and there were 3 tables, including us.

The “small” guac did come out quick, but the serving was about a handful in a massive bowl and was super uncomfortable to eat out of. However, my 1-star review comes from the Shrimp taco meals, which took well over 20 minutes to be brought out and were barely warm. A few minutes they brought out the refried beans too. The shrimp did not taste good and quite frankly the tacos seemed like they sat for a good 15 minutes before being served.

After a long day I was hoping to enjoy a quick meal and head home to unwind, but at this point I’m down $50 and up a stomach ache. Due to this experience, I don’t plan on going back and I don’t recommend going during non-peak hours as it seemed like employees didn’t want to be there.

I’ve reviewed this place before, but I just can’t help myself. We’ve been back a bunch and we just love it here. We can’t say enough about the food and we look forward to it every time we go. They never disappoint. The guac cart they bring to your table to make you fresh guac is really cool and and tasty. Also, if you haven’t tried Molcajete then it’s an absolute must in your future. The pineapple fajitas are fantastic too, and the margaritas are .

Looking for a place to eat on July 4th and while this wasn’t our first choice, I’m glad we gave it a shot. We were skeptical when walking in since there weren’t many people there but the place was clean, music was playing and tvs were televising soccer so we stayed!
Our server was patient as we looked over their menu-i think we sent him away twice…again, he was very patient. We finally decided on the Burrito Gigante, steak tacos, and chicken flautas Mexicanas. and oh my, the portions were fantastic and the food was so good! By the time we were finished, we had no room to try their fried ice cream, my cheesecake, or flan (one of my favs). I guess we’ll just have to return for another meal.

Try their flavorful quesadilla chipotle and hearty burrito deluxe. The ambiance is inviting, and the staff are friendly. Overall, a great choice for quality Mexican cuisine without breaking the bank!
