Had a late lunch date here with my wife earlier today and we both loved the food and had a great experience dining in. I had the catfish dinner and my wife had their cheeseburger with fries and house made ranch. The food was delicious, hot, fresh, and high quality, we loved it! I ordered the green tomato relish and coleslaw as my sides and they went great with the catfish. We also tried a sample of their pea salad which I will be ordering next time. I’m not normally into peas, but it was awesome! The restaurant itself is clean, well lit, and comfortable. Will be recommending this place to anyone who loves catfish, or is just looking for a great place to eat. Looking forward to our next visit!

The food was amazing! I had the cheeseburger and my husband had the catfish plate! The food, atmosphere and service was outstanding! My husband and I ducked in and waddled out with their caramel pudding. We will be going back again soon!

Atmosphere – very small space with big tables so it felt crowded with only about 10-12 patrons inside.
Service – our server was very very nice but did not know much about the food prep. I asked about the potato salad and all she had to say was she’d had no complaints ( being day 1, I guess that was true).
Food – was not bad and has potential once they all get in the groove of things. I was disappointed that baked potatoes aren’t served until 5pm and I didnt recall seeing that on the menu. The potato salad was bland and potatoes slightly undercooked; most of the potatoes in mine were too firm. The fish is good but would have been much better if they had been fried about 2-3 minutes longer. They steamed on the plate so the crispness was lost to the very lightly fried crust. The coleslaw tasted good but overdressed so it was goopy. The best thing .. the hushpuppies that are supposed to come with the meal, but we had to ask for them. And no sweet tea. This is Texas. Sweet tea is a must. We may go back once they’ve had a chance to practice the food prep because they do need that opportunity. I guess in remembrance of the Duck Inn years ago, we were somewhat disappointed.

I stopped at Duck Inn Again to see what all the fuss was about and was absolutely blown away! It definitely meets the hype and tastes like the original if not better, who thought that was possible? The fried catfish was perfectly crispy and seasoned just right, the hushpuppies were golden and delicious just how I remember, and the pea salad was fresh and full of flavor. Everything was just like home cooking should be. The service was excellent, friendly, fast, and welcoming from start to finish. You can really tell they care about their customers. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and great people but most importantly, fried catfish. It’s hard to find quality fried catfish these days but there’s a spot Again in Lake Dallas. Can’t wait to go back!

Stopped by here today due to an accident on 35 north. A coworker had told me about this place because they served US farm raised catfish. Ordered the regular fried whole catfish I got the green tomatoes relish which was my first time trying but was good with the fried fish like pickles and the fries. Ordered my husband the large blackened fish with a side salad and fries. The food was delicious since it was my first time I didn’t put in any request for how I wanted it fried but I do like it fried hard so next time I’ll ask. The sides are all homemade they even make homemade coleslaw and pea salad. Haven’t had pea salad since I left Waco. The owners are very nice customer service is exceptional and the atmosphere is also great it say small and personal. I saw what I assumed were regulars come in and it was like they walked into the bar at cheers!!!! Next time maybe I’ll try that tower burger she talked about or that steak I saw on the menu. I will be back. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!!!! Duck Inn anytime and have a bite!!!

Lake cities is so lucky to have Duck Inn Again! I pick up lunch here quite often and it’s my absolute favorite spot! I personally love the catfish sandwich, their catfish is best around, and that’s coming from someone who worked at Babes Chicken for over 10 years, I know good catfish. The best hush puppies and tartar sauce too. Even better, the owners are always a pleasure to chat with, as well as their wait staff. Thankful to have such a wonderful spot in Lake Cities! If you haven’t been- you’re missing out.

Wow! Thankful that The Owner had the Patience and Resilience to Open up the Duck Inn Again!
I never went to the Original before my time in the Lake Cities area. But one thing is for sure I now know why everyone stood in line at the Lake Dallas Farmers Market to get these hush puppies.

Everything is Homemade this is not freezer truck reheated food at all!
The Hushpuppies are the tip of the menu, the Catfish is off the charts, you must like clean, cornmeal breaded (ever so lightly) golden brown, beautiful crispy, moist fresh and flavorful catfish! Your choice Filet or bone in yep you read that right you get a choice.
The Green Mater Relish Good Lawd above has reached out from the heavens and touched this with a lot of Love and all the right Spice.
The Onion Rings Hand cut, hand breaded and fried to a beautiful golden brown color, crisp and full of flavor.
Mind you the Sauces are all Homemade the kind of Tartar that makes you think of Grandmas,
This is the kind of Home Cooked Meal that not only fills the belly, it tantalizes the tastebuds!
I ordered so Much I had to take the dessert home I will review that after a nice Nap!

Would not recommend this place at all. Very crowded and noisy because your sitting right where they are cooking. You get to watch them touch all the food and not wearing gloves. The food is not good. People like fish fried tender on the inside but fried crisp on the outside where you can pick it up if you want. Wasn’t really sure if it was done. Huspuppies needed some taste. These were not homemade.I could buy these in the grocery store and be better and besides that they charge you $4.95 for 6 hushpuppies. For the price of the dinner the hushpuppies should be free! Slaw was slaw. The baked potatoe was the best thing on the plate. You can go to Chicken Express or Bebo’s in Pilot Point and get much better fish!

When you walk in you immediately feel like you’re where any native Texan feels right at home, hospitality and comfort! Even if you’re not Texan you will LOVE this place. Anything you get even down to the sauces is ridiculously good! Get the hush puppies forsure! Every person we came in contact with in this place was glowing with happiness and love! Went there today with a buddy for lunch. The catfish was awesome – best catfish I’ve had in the DFW area. It was very tasty, fresh and piping hot. I had fries which were also very good. The server and staff were very friendly and helpful and took very good care of us. If I have one criticism, it is a bit noisy with a lot of echoing sounds – they could use some sound dampening or maybe carpeting the floors. Otherwise it was a great experience – I’d highly recommend their catfish if you are a catfish fan! In the words of Arnold, I’ll be back!
