Asian bakery with over 25 years experience. Interesting selection of goods. Staff was nice and accomodating. Nice selection of dinner rolls including purple yam rolls. I found the Hopia Baby tasty, but overly sweet. Baking done on premise.

“Hopia” is one of my favorite Filipino pastry. It’s crunchy on the outside and with sweet filling inside. When it is done right it can be delicious! I tried hopia from this bakery and I was disappointed! The filling is too sweet and it doesn’t have a taste of “baboy” at all. I looked at the ingredients and it didn’t say pork. So, I am just wondering why they would label this product as “hopia baboy!” When in fact, that is not what’s in the ingredients. I tried microwaving it for 30 seconds and it didn’t turn out right. Toasting it in the small oven was way better. I hope they will make it less sweet!

Filipino here! From this bakery, I’ve had the regular pandesal, ube pandesal, ensaymada, and ube ensaymada. They’re always authentic, fluffy, and have excellent texture/flavor. I live in Delaware & don’t have to travel to NJ for these baked goods since they’re shipped right to my local Asian supermarket! Never had any issues with these baked goods so I’m not sure about the few negative reviews here (I’m thinking that some people are just sooo picky & are impossible to please. Not to mention, they are insensitive to the fact that negative reviews with 1 or 2 stars can potentially hurt small mom and pop businesses like this one). I’ll continue to support this business, especially since it’s already so difficult to find a good Filipino bakery here in the east coast.

Great bakery! They are cash only.
The ensaymada ube was so good and sweet (not overly sweet). The staff was welcoming and friendly. Even gave us a free pork empanada that was pretty good as well.

Bought their Ube Cheese Pandesal from a Filipino store where I live. My husband and kids were disappointed bc in all of the buns they ate, not one had cheese in it. Note to self: don’t buy from this bakery ever again.

Berkeley Bakery has the best ube cheese pandesal rolls in NJ. When fresh, the bread and ube and cream cheese filling are sweet and soft. None of that salty Kraft singles garbo like in other store brands.

I just had them again a bit ago and was reminded of this fact. THEY ARE THE BEST. I won’t be taking questions. See for yourself!!

As a local to Highland Park, this place is the best Filipino bakery in New Jersey and so far that I’ve ever had this lady will give you free stuff without asking super good everything is fresh. Unfortunately she is closing down but hopefully she can make enough money to keep the place 26 or 25 years of business really good food always get the coconut bread and some empanadas. And the Ube is good to right in the middle of town. Also, hope she can keep the business and for everyone saying, and giving bad reviews give her a break she’s by herself, but yeah 100% recommend trying favorite joint in town

I bought an ensaymada which was named macapuno ube pie. It’s not a pie at all. Its dry ensaymada muffin. This is at Asian Fusion at Parsons Blvd. NY.
Horrors! Bread was so dry, 5 bits and pieces of macapuno and no ube, nothing there. Zero. It was a disappointment. You wasted money on the fancy name which should have been put on the product.
Pls don’t mislead and rip off customers.
I’d try one more time if you made an improvement.

This hopia jackfruit product of yours is very expensive $8.00 in change. It’s not worth it because the filling is very little and the bread is very thick and above all this, it’s hard. This is the worst hopia I have ever bought. I will never buy again any of your hopia product.

Normally, I go to asian grocery stories for my Filipino sweet craving but I wanted something fresh. This store may looks small but it’s filled with my fav snacks ! The staff also ultra nice too, I enjoy they care to get to know their customer base so I felt at home

the ube Pandesal (Filipino bread roll) with cheese, it was fresh out the oven: It is sooo soft and creamy:the perfect amount of cream and ube filling. I also picked some some ube ensaymada (sweat bread Purple yam with buttercream frosting with cheese and more purple yam filling basically a giant cupcake) .
