Wanted to try this place because its a new restaurant on the Resy list but Service was soo slow. As you can tell from the pictures, lots of tables were left dirty. I dont know if they are short staffed or they really only have two waiters. Food was mediocre but big portions for your buck. The fried calamari was really soggy and bland and definitely not worth the price.

My first time and it will be my last time. Food is very over priced. Right out the gate they were out of the appetizer we tried to order. The quality of the dishes we ordered was bland. She was dressed as if she was in her pj’s. Had to flag down the server multiple times. They were not even that busy. We were there around 6-615 pm on Friday 3-21-25. Would definitely NOT recommend. If there was a bright point the food itself did give the appearance of being delicious but again sadly it was not.
We had a half Caesar salad-mediocre taste at best
Half arugula salad-was fairly ok
shrimp pesto scampi-tough over cooked shrimp. No flavor sauce
Lasagna bolognese-tasteless sauce couldn’t tell if there was even any pork involved.

Great service and lovely location, but the food was mediocre at best for the price. Ordered the steak medium rare and it was barely pink. The Brussel Sprouts saw heat for maybe 30 seconds and were almost raw and flavorless. Added chicken to fettucine and it was so dry and overcooked.

I wanted to use my AMEX credit for Resy so I did my research and selected Piatanzi. I knew what I wanted to order and I was driving up from Silver City and was staying at the Element. I wanted to pick up food on the way to the hotel. I called an hour before and the gentleman on the phone said I should call back 30 minutes before I wanted to pick up the food. Ok, no problem. I called back when there was 40 more minutes left in my drive. I wanted the food as warm as possible. I continued to call a couple dozen times no one ever picking up the phone.

So they wasted my time. I should have had the guy just take my order the first time but I did r know they were not goi g to answer 20 to 30 more calls. Ridiculous.

My recent visit to this Italian restaurant was profoundly disappointing from start to finish. We made reservations in advance for my child’s birthday, expecting a pleasant and memorable experience. Instead, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had.

The food was unacceptable—poorly prepared, lacking flavor, and honestly nasty. For the high prices they charge, the quality was shockingly low and felt like a complete waste of money.

The service made the situation even worse. Our waiter Sly was unprofessional, inattentive, and downright rude. Despite knowing it was a birthday dinner, she showed no courtesy, no effort, and made every request feel like a burden. It was incredibly disappointing and embarrassing.

With overpriced, substandard food and disrespectful, careless service, this restaurant completely ruined what should have been a special celebration.

Overall, we left extremely unhappy, and I strongly recommend avoiding this place entirely.

I only tried the pasta and that was enough. Unfortunately, for them, I’ve eaten the real deal (in major cities and in Italy) and their food doesn’t even come remotely close to it. The pasta is extremely bland with no taste. I did not try the pizza which may be OK but ultimately this place isn’t worth a fraction of what they charge :/ It looks nice inside though! 🙂

(if you still want to come and give it a try, I suggest splitting one meal just in case you don’t like it so you’re not wasting too much money)

This place was Amazing. Food was so delicious. to the chef. For dinner we enjoyed Pollo Putanesca and the Scampi dish for the appetizer we had Calamari and Dessert was so good. Price was not too bad for 2 people servings is for sure shareable so keep that in mind or be ready to take food home. Our waitress was so nice and took care of us. The hostess was also nice. We made reservatioms through their website and had no issues but you can call it in and they will call to confirm. I am not 100% sire but I think this was the same restaurant that was on Juan Tabo just North of Candelaria. Piatanzi for sure 5 ⭐️. Plenty of parking and in a nice quiet area. Oh I cannot wait to try their Pizza we will be back .

Food was very good. My fiancee and I got two different pasta dishes. The portions were big and filling. They have a wide selections of drinks. The place is a pricey. The staff were very nice and attentive but not over attentive. They have a very good air conditioning system so bring a light jacket if you get cold easily.

Piatanzi didn’t disappoint and it was the perfect spot for our date. Crowd was mixed as far as demographics go. All ages were in attendance when we sat. Great wine and drink list. Menu was simple and easy to read.
Fresh baked bread was brought out after our drinks with a little bowl of Olive oil. I felt the olive oil was plain and could’ve had a house made seasoning in it. Bread was already sliced, hot with a thin hard crust and soft moist center. Yummy.
So we chose the calamari to start. Actually tasted most fresh out of any restaurant in ABQ. It wasn’t the typical circles you get from other places it was authentic. Lemon sauce drizzled on top with a light batter and good crunch. Moved onto a shrimp salad that had large shrimp fresh crisp green veggies. Had to end with the house made tiramisu. Dang! That was so good I was going to get another one. It was soft, creamy, with a good amount of sweetness and great tasting espresso soaked foundation.
Our waitress was awesome and she made the experience better. Gave us our time and explained everything we asked.
Personally the cost is worth it. Our dinner was around $60 with hot tea’s to drink.
All in all this was a great place and we will be returning when we are in the area.
