My wife did the half soup/half sandwich combo with the Shrimp Salad Sandwich and the Ham & Navy Bean Soup. She really enjoyed the shrimp salad and said the flavors in both dishes were well-prepared and seasoned. The soup had a ton of ham, though she noted she would have loved a few more beans in the mix.
I ordered the Shack Burger (medium rare with cheddar and bacon) with a side of hand-cut fries. The burger was a winner, a good-sized patty cooked perfectly to temperature with a nice char-grilled flavor and perfectly melted cheese. The fries had great texture (crispy outside, soft inside) and flavor, though I do wish they had arrived a little hotter.
Our waitress was attentive and kept checking in on us. We will definitely be back to try other dishes, ideally on a Monday for “Burger Day”!
JustViewing the world differently was looking for the best burger in Maryland and found G.L.Shack’s Gill it was packed with people watching the O’s game, eating, drinking, and just having a good time! The place was alive and a lot of fun. We had the Fried Pickle Chip basket and the Crab Mac & Cheese to start. Now on to the burgers! We had The ‘Shroom & Swiss and The Santa Fe Burger with fries and onion rings (The fries were ok, the onion rings were grease and tastes less) The burger’s were big juice and fantastic! My favorite was the Santa Fe Burger and the fried pickles!
I was in the mood for crab, so ordered the Cream of Crab soup for an appetizer and the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake sandwich. It was listed as market price which was $19.95 on my visit. The cream of crab soup was a great sign of the quality to come. Soup was indeed very creamy with large chunks of fresh crab. I would’ve been happy with just the soup, but then came the sandwich. It was overflowing with very large chunks of crab served on a brioche bun. Sandwich was amazing and every bite was worth every penny.
I will definitely come back here when I’m near BWI airport.
Food is usually pretty good. I like to ask for people’s favorites to sort out what is tasty.
I had the shrimp salad sandwich on Kaiser. I would not get it again but shrimp salad was tasty. I just ate it with a fork and knife and gave up on the roll. Was not worth $16.
Order the roast beef sandwich smothered in gravy but switch out the beef for meatloaf (pic). Was delicious.
Vegetarian wife and I shared caprese bites appetizer, these were pretty good but the cheese had absolutely no salt. Wife liked her salad as well. Onion rings were pretty good but look kind of boring.
Cauliflower crust pizza (pic) was actually pretty good. Would get again.
I have enjoyed everything I have eaten or drank. Some favorites: Meatloaf dinner (HUGE serving), fried pickles, MD crab soup, Pot Roast French Onion Dip Sandwich (10/10 – ruined all other french dips for me), Chicken Club Salad, and crab dip. I don’t have photos of a single thing because I eat it all immediately lol
