Food was horrible. My friend ordered a wet burrito and had to scoop out the filling because the tortilla was very old. In the filling she found what felt to be a plastic piece. It was about the size of a grain of rice. The only thing that was good were the rice and beans

I don’t usually write reviews if they are bad but my daughter went up there to grab us supper and this is the 3rd time they have messed up our food. First this time they said they don’t do wet chimichangas but that is what I have gotten before. But fine. I wanted asada and my daughter wanted a chicken burrito. They mixed ours up. I got a chicken chimichanga and she got a steak burrito. They forgot the lemons and the burritos barely had any filling and was mostly rice. We got the plate so it comes with a side of rice and beans and we hardly got any. I keep trying to give this place a chance but I think we are done. I and my 16 year old daughter are so disappointed and these are $14 dollar plates a piece. I won’t be going back and will go to La’ Mixteca across the street for now on. I kind of feel like the guy is messing our order up in purpose?!

Was in the area decided to give it a try.
Food was delicious I got the taquitos al pastor and wow it’s amazing! Defiantly recommend. I will defiantly be driving the 30 minutes to get that again. Horchata was ok not too sweet but I would get it again. Hubby got the wet burrito said it was delicious. And got champurrado and he finished all of it so I assume it was good lol. Also the gentleman working there was super nice. Good service.

Mr Compadre (aka Señor Buddy) is part of an impressive parque de carritos in Fairview called the Fairview Fork. The facility includes ample indoor and outdoor seating, a full bar, and even a stage for karaoke et al.

To the tacos, though. The carnitas tacos were delicious, everything sparkling fresh and the meat itself a mix of crisped edges and unctuous tender bits. I appreciated the radishes and plentiful lime wedges.

The unexpected highlight here was the chile toreado. In my experience this is usually a deep fried whole chile. At Mr Compadre they split a large jalapeño and sear it on the plancha with some onion petals and plenty of salt. The chile and onions soak up the glaze left by the carnitas. It was easily the best tasting chile toreado I’ve had, and now I am curious how widely their preparation differs. I guess I am fixing to find out.

One of the best taco spots on the east side! You can tell that everything is freshly made and the prices are amazing. I’ll definitely be coming back and excited to try more things from their menu

Good food, but inconsistent menu options. Out of the ~10 times I went to get a breakfast burrito and asked about meat options they only had bacon in stock once.

I have only tried the carne asada fries and they were delicious!! The meat was nice and seasoned! The salsa were good! It says it has pico de gallo but I only saw tomato no onion or cilantro. Definitely will come back to try more. My wait time was about 15 minutes.

Way too expensive for what you get. Ordered a tostada and it was $14 for this tiny thing. The flavor and taste was fine but that was not even close to being $14 worth

I’ve been coming here since the fork first opened. I love their taco plate that comes with a drink. The food is always really good. But within the last couple months they’ve hired a new female worker who is extremely unfriendly. It’s gotten to the point where I will not get food from Mr. compadres if she is working. Which is a shame.

6/29/25 update. I hate to change my review but after coming here for a while it’s gotten worse. We came down for dinner tonight and we ordered food grabbed a couple beers. We waited about 30 minutes and was wondering why our beeper wasn’t going off. We were given a dead beeper. When we went back up to the window. We were told our food had been done for a long time and just sitting there.
But not once did anyone try and deliver our food to us. When they realized we weren’t coming after being buzzed. So we ended up leaving with cold food.
