Ordered take out from here last night for the first time and LOVED it!

Pricing: Prices are higher than seen online but the owner told us on the phone before we ordered. There’s also a sign on the door stating their prices are adjusted. For 4 meals and one appetizer, it was $95.

Open Hours/Wait time: Their hours are limited as the owner told us he and his wife live in Chicago. They do this more as a side gig and told us when we picked up our food they had have trouble since COVID finding more staff so now it’s just them. We didn’t mind much have to wait a little long than typical take out places (45 minutes) and it was worth the wait! The time estimate was accurate so our food wasn’t cold or not ready when we got there.

Food: Some of the best, if not the best, Thai food I’ve had in the Midwest! I went to Thailand almost 13 years ago and this meal took me right back. I had the chicken lemongrass, my boyfriend ordered ginger stir fry with chicken, parents had the vegetable delight with chicken and pad Thai with chicken plus we did an order of egg rolls (3 in the order). Everything was very fresh and the portions sizes were generous, so most of us had leftovers. My boyfriend had never had Thai food and he really enjoyed his meal! Only thing to note with the food is most of it had a lot of broth. We didn’t mind but we did need to be careful when we first started eating.

Service/atmosphere: The owner was extremely kind! All of the reviews here talking but how awesome he is are accurate. We weren’t in there very long but the owner was very kind and friendly!

Overall, Ban Thai is now one of my new favorite places in the Saint Joseph/Benton Harbor area! We found the prices and wait time absolutely worth it since it was all made fresh and had enough for at least two meals. The food was amazing, and the owner’s friendliness and honesty was the just the icing on the cake! If you are in the area, this is a must try!

What a wonderful visit to Ban Thai in St. Joseph, Michigan! The food was truly a delight. Although they don’t offer dine-in service at the moment, the takeout was excellent and held up beautifully during the journey home. I’m so glad I had the chance to enjoy their offerings!

The meal was remarkable! The curry rice and spring rolls were bursting with flavor. As someone who loves curry, I was thrilled with how well this dish came together. A squeeze of lime really took it to the next level!

The service was also commendable. The owner was extremely friendly and took the time to guide us through the menu, making for a pleasant and engaging conversation.

The atmosphere, although takeout only, felt warm and inviting. Just a heads-up, make sure to catch them during their limited hours of operation. It’s a charming restaurant worth visiting.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Ban Thai! The food was crafted with care and tasted exceptional. They truly excel in Thai cuisine! If you’re in the area, it’s a must-try.

This place was phenomenal. The owners are the kindest folks I’ve ever met and my wife and I plan to order from them regularly. Some of the best Thai food we have found in the Midwest. Totally worth the drive! Take out only! No online delivery so make sure you go in, 1000% worth it!
The food was phenomenal. We tried their red curry, Massuman curry and their Pad See Ew. So good!

The owner Jimmy is the sweetest man ever. My friend and I went in yesterday and got Pad Thai, Pot Sticker Chicken Dumplings, and Thai Pudding. We also had 2 drinks that were very yummy. The food was soooo delicious and fresh. He had it ready for us right when we got there. When we were eating, he came out to our car and gave us free drinks. Truly such a kind man, we will be coming back soon:)

My boyfriend and I popped in for a quick dinner to go. We were taken aback on their hospitality & their willingness to accommodate me being Gluten Free. Overall, this is my new favorite thai place in the Michigan/Indiana area. 11/10 food. This Husband and Wife ran restaurant truly had the best service, but even better than that, they were the most kind hearted individuals I have ever met.

The food here was absolutely delicious! The owner gets his noodles fresh from Chicago, and you can taste the difference. The Pad See Ewe was really good, as well as the sticky rice dessert. I really enjoyed the Thai iced tea, but I like mine strong, which it was. My husband had to water his down, because he didn’t like it that strong. The food can be a little bit greasy, as with many stir fry dishes in Asian restaurants, nevertheless the taste is amazing! The owner was very attentive to us, was funny, and a really likeable person! Definitely want to come back here!

Amazing! Girlfriend and I found this spot during our short vacation into town

– very quality, savory, delicious food. This is not your greasy take out back home, this is an indulgence of Thai cuisine
– the gentleman who handled “front of house” is a delight, sweet man that made us feel very welcomed
– have to go back to the food, we got the Pad Kee Mao with Beef and the Curry Fried Rice with Shrimp. Highly recommend, we will be coming back next time in town

We do an annual trip from Indianapolis and try to hit up local spots every time. This was our first time here- and added to our list of must-visits each time! The owner was incredibly sweet and approachable. The food was amazing and obviously made with care (lots of emphasis on fresh, authentic ingredients.) St. Joe is very charming, and this is one gem that adds to that charm. I hope he and his family is here for many years to come!

What can I say about Ban Thai that hasn’t already been said? Not only is this the best Thai cuisine for hundreds of miles, but you will not find better hospitality and consideration at any restaurant around. Jimmy and his wife run a tight ship, providing incredibly fresh and flavorful dishes, as fast as humanly possible. You will not be disappointed by any dish; curry, fried rice or noodles, everything is exceptional. If you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss out on Thai Iced Tea to drink and mango sticky rice for dessert.

Thank you, Jimmy, for always making us feel like family!

Incredible service! I’m a big fan of Jimmy and his humor. The food was high quality for the price, the spiciness was perfect. I know this sounds exaggerated but if I could give 10 stars, I would. Wish they had a location in Berrien Springs!
