My favorite chinese restaurant in fresno! My family has been coming here for years, even before I was born. The workers know us and they are so sweet! A sense of warmth when you walk through the doors and you leave full as can be, waddling out from the delicious food you just had.
What we ordered:
We normally get 3-5 family dinners, depending how many of us go.
-green bean in soy sauce: 9/10, the green beans always have a crunch in every bite and the soy sauce is very flavorful
-salt & pepper shrimp: 100/10, have to eat while it’s served! the hotter the better, the shrimp is fried and coated with garlic, salt and pepper, one of our family favorites here!
-compound chicken: 9/10, served with zucchini and peanuts, has a minor spicy level
-chicken salad: 10/10, comes with lettuce, wontons and peanut dressing that’s sweet
-green tea: 10/10
All family dinners are served with sizzling rice soup, egg roll, pot sticker, foiled chicken & steamed rice per dinner

Why are Chinese restaurants so chinsey when it comes to vegetables. If I ordered a meat dish I would get plenty of meat but when it’s just veggies they barely put any in there. How can you give me $5 worth if I get meat but when it’s veggies it’s maybe $1 worth. If that. Plus I was told that my dinner came with noodles. It did not. So it’s a bed of sliced cabbage, bean sprouts, a couple pieces of broccoli and a couple pieces of the small corn cob things. But if I had meat it’d be all that plus the meat. For 50 cents more I could’ve gotten shrimp. Feel cheated every time I order here plus the food has absolutely no flavor. Last time I paid $5 extra for bean sprouts and got like 50 cents worth. If I had ordered extra meat I’m pretty sure I would get more than one bite of meat.

I like the servers. They are polite and attentive. Wife and I came in around 1 pm ish. First timer here, the atmosphere was somewhat on the darker side with few lights that illuminated the walls. The food was some what bland, meaning not much flavor. I order the chow mein and Kung pao chicken. I would recommend the chef to cook the whole chili longer until he or she smells the chili so it will coat the chicken and veggies in the hint of chili. It was like the meat was cooked and sauce was just thrown in it. Ive been cooking chinese cuisine for nearly 20 years and I would rate the kung pao, 2/10. The noodles were somewhat on the older side as the noodles were not as bright and kinda soggy, 3/10. I can understand catering to your demographic and salt can be added to the customers liking. I likely won’t ever be back but I hope the owners can tweek the menu a little bit since so much reviews have been about being bland for MONTHS. Being asian myself, it didnt hit nor satisfied my asian pallet. SADLY the best thing that tastes good today was THE WATER 6/10.

Came here for lunch today as it has been a while since I’ve been in. Tsing Tao has been here for years. Great food. I ordered the Kung Pao Lunch special. You get an egg roll, the smallest salad I’ve ever seen (lettuce and dressing only) and egg drop soup. I wanted Hot and Sour soup, but it was not exchangeable. I ordered the smallest Hot and Sour soup anyway, which is still huge. I’m not a fan of the peas and carrots they have in it, but it’s still very good.
The lunch itself is kind of skimpy. Still a decent amount of food, but I’m used to having almost a whole 2nd portion of food intake home. This quantity was easy to consume most of it all at lunch. Still great food and a great restaurant. Check it out!

The service here is very quick, and the portions I get a good amount for a reasonable price, most times ready in less than 10 minutes. The Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken and General Tso’s Chicken are all really good. Their lunch special includes a spring roll and something that resembles an empty unwrapped fried wonton. Honestly wish the Fried rice was flavored more as the color was very light almost like if you mix steamed rice and scrambled eggs. I enjoy the Chow Mein most with their lunch special.

This is the #1 place for authentic Chinese food in the Central Valley. Their plates are very delicious and unique in flavor. I recommend their Sizzling Rice Soup, Walnut Shrimp, Kung-Pao Chicken, Green Bean Chicken, and Pot Stickers. The atmosphere is great and their service is always excellent.

Tired needs updating. I had the moo goo gai pan that had too many mushrooms, a fair amount of chicken but shy on vegetables. 3 small pieces or squash, 3 smaller pieces of broccoli. And this was supposed to be a white wine sauce, but it had too much sugar and brown I think soy was added mistake, to be a proper moo goo gai pan. I ordered the dinner which came with sizzling rice soup, but did not sizzle at all too dried out rice. Had okay flavor, the other appetizers were barely warm, as it seemed they were in a warming light, definitely not fresh. Fould wrapped chicken was different. Even the sweet sour sauce seemed watered down. As it barely adhered to spring roll or the pot sticker. Pot sticker was cold inside.

We ordered several dishes tonight in the hopes of finding our new favorite Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately, this one rates near the bottom in our book. Of the five dishes we ordered, the only one that didn’t require added flavor was the sweet and sour chicken. Even then, it had an off-putting aftertaste.
The mixed vegetables tasted like they were cooked with zero seasonings or flavors. The sauce was grayish with no flavor whatsoever-like thick tap water. The vegetables were cooked well, but other than that, the dish was a flop.
We ordered the house chow mein and the chicken was mostly fat and the dish was lacking any type of flavor. Literally. None.
The mu shu pork wasn’t too bad. It had a little bit of a smoky flavor, but was really only decent. The plum sauce made it more edible.
Another dish we tried was the crispy beef. That one had some flavor to it, but required a good amount of added soy sauce to make it almost good.
Overall, total letdown for $70 worth of food. Should have just poured a bowl of cold cereal.

Food quality has dropped a lot since new owners took over a year or so ago. Food no longer has flavor, no matter what we order. We tried a BBQ pork appetizer tonight, it was served dry with no sauce. It was like eating bark chips. $14.00. Sadly, that will end our visits to Tsing Tao, after nearly 15 years.

My wife had the sweet and sour chicken which she loved. My grandson had the Mu Shu Shrimp which he loved. However, I ordered the Hot and Sour soup which was the most watery H&S soup I’ve ever had. I also ordered the Chicken Curry which was bland and grossly greasy, yes, greasy! We’ll never return!!
