My husband and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary at Sushi Hon for our very first omakase experience, and it truly could not have been more perfect.
We were lucky enough to have Chef Andy, and he made the entire evening feel so special. He was incredibly kind and welcoming, and you could immediately tell how passionate he is about his craft. He walked us through each course, shared which pieces were his personal favorites, and put so much care and artistry into every single bite.
Everything was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully balanced.
To make the night even more special, they surprised us with rosé to celebrate our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch and completely made our night.
10/10 experience from start to finish. We will absolutely be back!

We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and Sushi Hon did not dissapoint! From start to finish, it was an absolutely wonderful culinary adventure. We loved talking to the Chef throughout our meal. He was so down to earth and knowledgeable about each fish he served us. The entire staff treated us so warmly and made the experience the type of culinary experience you come back for. It was the perfect place to spend a special occasion!

We went on a Sunday night, early at 5:30 pm. We were the 4th couple to arrive. The staff greeted us warmly and directed us to our seats. Everything was delicious. I normally don’t eat eggplant, but enjoyed the dish they served. I also ended up getting the beverage pairing. It was my first time having that much sake. It was interesting how different, but pleasant it was compared to my usual, which is wine.
We both left feeling full, but not overly so.
Highly recommended.

We had the omakase prefix dinner on Christmas – the ambience is serene, a respite from life’s chaos, the attention to detail by the service staff is Michelin level superb – you feel special even before the first dish arrives. Then, the magic happens – one dish and one story at a time, you’re taken through a journey that combines the sea, the artful vision of a sushi chef and the splendid story telling of the kind and thoughtful wait staff. The sake added a little fun and it was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had – it’s a stellar restaurant with stellar staff. Another cuisine jewel in the Bay Area’s hat.

Omakase experience. Excellent food and conversation. The chef was detailed in the food, region the food was sourced from, and why they were ordered in the experience. Our host provided a lot of detail on each sake before pouring. Pricy but the entire dinner was ~2.5 hours and unrushed. Totally of about 18 distinct dishes so it felt like a good value all things considered.

The food was great overall. A bit disappointed for the Uni that it would be Bafun Uni (Hokkaido) but got the Santa Barbara one.
