I had the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and it was so juicy and flavorful. The Thai tea was great too. The inside is super cute very homey with cozy, dim lighting. Only downside was the music being a little too loud I had trouble hearing the person across from me. But honestly, I don’t get the bad reviews. Our server was lovely and the food came out in about 20 minutes. I’d definitely come back.

P.S— They only accept American Express & cash

The night I visited this place it was really packed so we had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated especially because we didn’t have reservations. The experience overall was okay, to me it was not like any other Thai restaurant that I dine at, the menu is very limited when it comes to Thai selections compared to other places and the portions are not large. I ordered a large pineapple fried rice but the portion looked like a small but it tasted very good. The miso soup was also delicious along with the Chicken Satay and shrimp tempura
tempura. The service was okay it was a busy night so there was limited interaction with our waitress. But the staff was friendly and greeted us with kindness.

Wow. Was having a not so good day until I came here, and let’s just say, the name holds up. This was such a wonderful dinner experience and continues to be a staple of my dining experience. Not to mention the excellent service and kind, personable waiters. (Especially John) 10/10 restaurant. Put it on your list

Something about Lovely Day makes it so cozy, understated, and such a great place for dinner. My love for Thai food meant I have some very high expectations, and this place did not disappoint.

It is hard to define Lovely Day in the first place. It is, for sure, not trendy. But despite its dim & aging interior, it is not mundane either. In fact, the crowd we’ve seen is still overwhelmingly the young and hip Nolita type. They approved this over $60 brunch? Unknowable universe!

This place passed my curry test for how spicy it was. I did not see this coming – it was disguised as a green curry, which is typically less spicy than red curry. What kind of chili was that?

They also make some of the best Pad Thais out there. It has a chewy texture coupled with the distinctive sour taste that saves it from being too dense, a mistake many Thai places make too often. Coupled with the coconut milk soup and you just had a happier dinner than you might ask for.

I heard many locals longed to keep this place a secret, and I can see why. But seeing how much dedication this place poured into itself, I’d hate for it to go out of business. Kind reminder that they have a bar too if you need some liquor with your Thai 😉

Food is fantastic, the papaya salad with a fusion twist was a stand out, loved the pad Thai too and generally all Thai food. The restaurant is very cozy, the owner Kazusa is very attentive and welcoming, service was very good, excellent value for money, considering is in NYC. The night I went they had salsa live music I highly recommend this unique place.

Great food! The curry was delicious. Great price and location as well!
The waiter wasn’t so great as the food tho. Kinda cold toward us, but maybe because the place was busy to keep up with. Just would have preferred a warmer service!
Absolutely to go!

Waitress/hostess was extremely rude almost to a comical degree. She blatantly ignored our request for the bill three (3!!!) times and made eye contact and just walked right past us. Mind you this is a small place and there is no way she didn’t see or hear us. I would possibly forgive if the food and drinks were better but they were lackluster at best and extremely overpriced. The vibe is cute and they have Red Stripes if that’s all you’re looking for.

The food is amazing. I had the shrimp pad Thai and some of the friends had the todo curry, which they said was spicy and delicious. There are plates for sharing or you can get your own dish. We sat upstairs with a group of 7 so it was a bit too cramped, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars. I’ve heard the downstairs is bigger, but it was booked 2 weeks out when we made our reservation. It’s also a great price. I will go back again for sure, just not with a bigger crowd.
