I love coming here when visiting. It is a must. The food is delicious and the family atmosphere is so welcoming. A must stop always. The fried chicken and vegetables are my favorite. I just wish I was there on a Thursday for their cornbread dressing. Can’t wait to go back.

Came here for lunch while in Augusta for work.

I had the fried steak with broccoli and fried corn. I also had some baked chicken.

The food was okay for me.

The fried steak didn’t really impress. It didn’t really have much of a taste to be honest, but I did enjoy the chicken.

The fried corn was ok, but the broccoli was soaking in water.

No issues with service. The staff was very friendly and didn’t seem to mind answering all my colleague’s questions.

The roast beef was tender, and the okra was perfectly cooked.

The chicken fried steak was so good, with white rice and mashed potatoes both with oxtail gravy. Fine home cooking at it best. Excellent service, place will get crowded for lunch but the food is worth the wait. Waiter recommendations are highly recommended since they tried everything already if you are undecided. Little home cook gem in downtown Augusta.

7 of us stopped here for lunch after our morning bike ride on the NA Greeneway. Turned out to be a wise decision. Being lent season, we ordered the fried flounder plate & a veggies plate. The flounder pieces were large, light & crunchy – just perfect. The sides were really good, but our favorites were okra & tomatoes, butter beans, green beans, & mac-n-cheese. Service was fine. We were the first customers, but it quickly filled up. Plenty street parking. We will definitely return.

I only ordered an appetizer and it took over 30 minutes to come out…. was not good and small portions. Chicken wings by the way.
VERY noisy in the dining area…. need some damper foam in the corners.

2nd time in Cafe 209, 1st experience was great and this was no different. Choose the veggie plate and the Lima Beans was the chizzie the cabbage, my, favorite, couldn’t wait. The Okra, Tomatoes was o.k. yet overall including the service I was HAPPY.
THANKS

I have been on this earth 34 years and this is the BEST Mac and cheese I have ever tasted! Every single thing I ate here was amazing and if I could give this place 10 stars I would. Our waitress Kedra was so friendly and awesome! I can’t wait to come back!
