$36 for alright chimichanga and carne asada plate. Prices are way too high in general, and especially since the food is nothing special at all. The Coachella Valley is full of really good restaurants, especially La Quinta where this is located. There’s simply no reason to spend so much for food that yes, is big in portion and will fill you up, but the taste isn’t unique. The cheese on my chimichanga, much like shown in others’ photos, wasn’t even melted. It just sits on top of the burrito. My brother’s carne asada plate was so average. Literally beans and rice and meat, a dish that can be cooked at home for significantly cheaper.
Neither of us were crazy about our food and the price was ridiculous. The interior isn’t even nicely decorated and the lighting is dull. I have absolutely no reason to hate, I’m just being honest. I really don’t want anyone to waste their time coming here when there are much much better restaurants nearby, and for cheaper.

Fantastic taco stop. I got the Quesabirria, with the consome, and it was amazing! A little on the spicier side, but nothing I couldn’t handle. My mom got the hard shell potato taco, “I would get it again!” My brother got the Machaca plate, and said it was amazing. My dad got the chilaquiles plate, and loved it. Great food for everyone.
Salsa bar is well stocked and kept clean. Small and quaint place inside, with great seating.

Really great food. I grew up in the desert and it’s been a classic spot forever. Still so good.

The best burritos de papa ever. We drive hundreds of miles to get them (no joke!). If you’re looking for great-tasting, dependable Mexican food, you definitely need to stop here. Asada burrito, agua fresca, and the hot sauce are amazing as well. Friendly staff and good prices. We love it here.

We moved out of state almost a decade ago, but still visit Palm Desert for family. Every time we visit, we eat here and get beef flautas because this is awesome food. It’s been good like this for over a decade too. The soups are also good.

Everything is reliable, acceptable, and well priced. If you are looking for a never-let-you-down 5 days a week kind of taco shop, this is the spot for you.
(The shrimp and fish tacos are better than Rubios across the street. And the prices are great too.)

Not fancy but the food is superb!! Hidden gem, tried it on a recommendation , very happy I did. Maybe the best shredded beef hard shell tacos outside of Mexico. Just sayin.
