Celilo Catering catered my wedding at The Orchard Hood River. And it was INCREDIBLE! Celilo provides not just dinner for your wedding, but an experience. You can smell the food being cooked in the open kitchen, you can see the garden where it came from, and when it’s time to eat, family style dining created the feeling of an intimate dinner party with all your people. And, of course, it was all delicious! Our guests LOVED it.

The catering staff was wonderful, as well. They were friendly, accessible and anticipated needs seamlessly. They truly made all our guests feel taken care of and made the day feel easy for us.

We chose this restaurant for the farm to table experience and to celebrate a family event. While there were some great dishes, unfortunately 2/3 of the meal was executed so poorly we couldnt finish it. We ordered a cocktail, local ipa and a mocktail. No complaints there, drinks were well made. The bread and dip platter had a few delicious dips some misses, but overall a unique assortment that we enjoyed. I had a crisp salad that was also good, the greens especially so. Entres were New York Strip Mid-Rare, Salmon and Pappardelle Bolognese. The kiddo loved the Bolognese, no complaints. The New York was so poorly cooked that on the outside item was hard charred and completely raw internally. The salmon had a similar completely raw interior. We both had a few bites and realized immediately we shouldn’t continue eating it. While our server did stop by almost immediately after the entre was placed, it wasn’t until the second bites that we realized how bad the execution was. It took 20-25 minutes for our server to return. An additional 5-7 minutes for a manager to address the issues. The offer to reheat a steak and salmon that was sitting in a horseradish cream was less than a solution. Not trusting of anything reheated from that kitchen or any kitchen once sent back. Ive seen enough hidden camera type footage to know better of the vengeful ways of a spited kitchen. Regardless, 2 main entres went back with 2-3 bites out of them, a little more on the salmon, but still a soured appetite. Clearly not even a fraction of the dish. Manager refunded half of the two entres which felt insulting for the experience. Probably wouldn’t be writing this had the scenario been made right. I understand the food business is hard, but will be sure to share this experience with anyone asking. Such a shame for something we came to celebrate that turned into a terrible experience.

Another splendid meal at Celilo last night, which features local Gorge growers and producers and homemade pasta. Such an incredible, professional staff. My bride started with the Gazpacho, which was so fresh like drinking fresh tomatoes. I went for the always great Steak Frites, though was jealous of her Pesto Chitarra pasta, which I almost did not give back. One of our favorite spots in Oregon.

We did not have a reservation but just so happened to walk in right at 5 when they opened and offered us the bar or the tables next to the bar, since there were 4 us they put two of the tables together for us. Rachel was our server and she right off the bat was amazing helping us with wine pairings since we kind of knew we wanted the steak….Rachel was just the cherry on top of our great meal here. She was patient and so pleasant with us. Come for the food and definitely wanted to stay for the service.

Top notch, one of the best Hood River Restaurants offering locally sourced FRESH gourmet ingredients. Salmon, streak, appetizers, desserts – ALL were 100% solid winners, well prepared and seasoned perfectly, they know what they are doing. Service is excellent snd staff are not only helpful but also take time to guide you through the menu, excellent experience, will return! Highly recommended.

Really wanted to like this place. Came in for Valentine’s Day from out of town, and there was a totally different menu than advertised. Our server was nice, but didn’t really offer an explanation until we pressed for one later in the evening. It seemed like maybe they were not prepared for the volume, but at the very least, we were hoping the replacement dishes would be good. The restaurant is beautiful, and maybe we should come back on a less busy night to try the food again. My suggestion would be to simply be up front with your patrons. Will try again.

Although the fancy schmancy-i-ness of Celilo is a bit in contrast to the outdoor rec scene of Hood River … there’s plenty of clientele to support it! In September, it was a cornucopia of fresh, local produce.
The assorted cheese plate was more of an assorted fresh local fruits and cheese plate. Nearly a whole plum, what appeared to be a plumcot, tart pear and a beautiful fresh fig complemented eclectic local cheeses (one w a “gin rind”).
An ample local wine menu as well. The Baro red was so rich & raisiny-black cherry yummy. (Was told the vineyard was hit by the Lyle fires last year so unclear it will be available much longer.)

Had a wonderful meal at Celilo. Just a simple beer and hamburger after a long day hiking. My top priority when choosing a restaurant is one that serves organic food or has a heavy farm to table influence. Locally sourced food from Farmers that care always tastes better.

As you can tell by other reviews for Solo, the food is unquestionably very well prepared. In my case, it was no different. They have a few equals in Hood River when it comes to locally sourced food prepared to an elevated level.

We had dinner at this restaurant yesterday. We arrived at 8:00pm. It was busy for Wednesday night. The hostess was in the back so we had to wait a little to be seated. Our waitress with dark hair was friendly. I got their special: Spring Veggie Pasta. I didn’t ask for the price, but later I looked at the receipt and did the math. It was about $35.00. ***They charge a 3% fee for credit card payment*** The veggies were fresh and the sauce was not overly strong compared to other restaurants in the states. It was good. My partner ordered the Cecili Burger. He wasn’t able to finish it so I was going to for him. The burger was on the dry side and the fries tasted bitter like they were burned. I have a big appetite and hate wasting any food, but I wasn’t able to finish it. Lastly, I found the hostess disrespectful. She said nothing to me or even didn’t look at me when we walked in and out. Even my partner noticed it.

Amazing ambiance with beautiful woodwork. We had delicious cheeses, shishito peppers, pesto, salmon & a burger. The service was attentive and friendly. At the end we got to try in-house made sorbets that were superb and moist cake. Highly recommend both deserts, make sure to save room! We love the ever-changing menu and can’t wait to go back again!
