Nomadic Flavors
I’ve been a regular at Spice Social in downtown Fullerton for a while now, and it’s become my go-to for flavorful Indian cuisine. Located at 138 W Commonwealth Ave, the vibe is lively with a modern interior, a bar area, and space for groups—it’s great for social gatherings, whether it’s a casual meetup or a small party. The outdoor patio adds to the options, though it can get noisy inside during peak times.
The staff is friendly and attentive; they always remember my order, which makes the experience feel personal. I always get the Ludhiyana Da Special Chicken (a creamy chicken korma with herb sauce)—it’s rich, comforting, and perfectly spiced without being overwhelming. Because this food item isn’t on any other Indian restaurants’ menus, I give this place 5 stars. Portions are generous, and it pairs great with garlic naan or basmati rice. Other favorites include the lamb biryani, paneer tikka masala, and innovative items like butter chicken poutine. They’ve got solid vegetarian options too, like saag paneer, and drinks such as mango lassis or spicy cocktails to round it out. Entrees run around $18-20, with extras adding up, but it’s worth it for the quality.

My daughter and I wanted to come here for a quick dinner craving for some Indian food. I’m glad that we found this place because the food was absolutely delicious and let me tell you about the portions. The portions are very generous so expect to have a lot of leftovers if you’re a small eater like me lol the Service was exceptional and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Very beautiful place not only to spend some time but grab some delicious Indian food. I highly recommend this place. I’m definitely would go for more.

We visited Spice Social for lunch with coworkers. The food quality was average and didn’t quite meet our expectations. Portion sizes were on the smaller side. Prices were fair and reasonable. Service was also average — nothing particularly memorable. Overall, it was a decent but unremarkable experience.

Excellent indian restaurant. We are a big party of 18 folks that dropped on a non weekend day. They were very gracious to host us, though we came in at an odd hour.

We tried Manny items, as you can tell from the attached pictures. We liked each and every one of the items we tried. Enjoyed the food, the wonderful service and the ambience very much.

The fried rice is a little salty and that’s the only lowest point out of all the dishes. Avacado Bhel is about average and made it a little better by adding sweet chutney.

We loved the Jalapeno Kulcha and reordered but that didn’t come the way we asked. I guess the time of the day and the rush made it that way.

The chicken dishes tasted good but apparently felt undercooked – as told by others in my party.

Overall we enjoyed the food here.

Walking into Spice Social, you immediately get the feeling that this is not your typical Indian restaurant. The interior is modern yet cozy — think warm wood accents, exposed brick, stylish lighting, and a few artistic touches like a dramatic elephant portrait. It manages to balance a lively bar vibe with a family-friendly dining space, perfect for casual dinners or catching a game on one of the many TVs.

The bar is serious business here. Rows of wine bottles, a great selection of craft beers on tap, and an impressive lineup of Indian beers you don’t often find — Taj Mahal, Haywards 5000, Old Monk 10000 Super Beer, Flying Horse, and more. Definitely a paradise if you’re looking to pair authentic Indian flavors with a cold, bold brew.

Now onto the food — and wow. I ordered a classic setup: a rich, fragrant chicken marsala curry , a bowl of fluffy basmati rice, and a basket of freshly baked naan. The curry was hearty, deeply spiced without being overwhelming, and had that slow-cooked depth you dream about. The naan was warm, soft, with just the right char, perfect for scooping every last bit of sauce. Fresh cilantro and pickled onions on top added a nice finishing touch.

Service was friendly and low-key, giving you space to enjoy your meal but always nearby if needed.

Highlights:
• Excellent Indian beer selection
• Modern, welcoming decor
• Authentic, flavorful food
• Relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere

Minor nitpick:
• The music/video on the TVs was a bit eclectic — Indian mythology animations next to NFL games can be a little distracting if you’re hoping for a quiet meal.

Verdict:
If you’re looking for a modern take on an Indian bar and grill without losing the authentic soul of the cuisine, Spice Social nails it. I’ll definitely be back for the beers, the vibe, and especially that curry.

Great fusion of Indian and Western food culture. It feels like you are in an American pub but with Indian food. Quality is very good but quantity feels a bit short. The music volume was a bit loud but they do accept suggestions, so give it a try. The menu is not extensive but that’s perfect. Free parking is available on the streets but could be a task in busy timings.
They also hold comedy nights which is great.

Amazing vegetarian, vegan, and meat-friendly options. Family owned and operated, service is fast, attentive, and eager to explain any dishes you have questions about.

We had a hard time narrowing down our selections as there were so many that sounded delish!

For starters, we settled on Ambarsariya Kulcha which is naan-like unleavened bread with potato, paneer, and spices pancaked inside and baked in their tandoor, or urn shaped oven. Perfectly crisp on the outside, dough-ey on the inside, amazing flavors. Loved it, and want to try the Cheese & Jalapeno Kulcha next time!

We also ordered the Baingan Bharta, a medley of minced eggplant mixed with tomato, onion, peas, herbs & spices. Went great with the kulcha. Lastly, we ordered the Coco Flower – cauliflower with coconut milk sauce which was also delicious.

For our entrees, we loved the Chicken Tikka Masala in a tomato base and smokey Lamb Tikka. Both were bursting with flavor and left us wanting more. I highly recommend both.

The Goat Curry was a great finisher as it was fall-off-the-bone tender goodness. We put in another order of garlic naan to pair with this dish and it was quite the finish.

The free small lot connected to the restaurant is often full, but there is plenty of addt’l parking in the structure adjacent. It is typically $5 all-day, but recently seems to be free. Take a pic of your lic plate since paid parking is registered using parking stall number and your lic plate.

We’re visiting on vacation and haven’t had Indian food in quite some time. I’m so glad we ordered from here! The Samosas were so delish with a surprise kick! Not too spicy though. We also got the chicken tikka masala that and the garlic naan were perfect! Such a tasty treat!
