Reviews
Tomatina bills itself as a lively Italian kitchen, anchored by an open-fire oven and a menu built around pastas, salads, piadine, and soups. On a recent visit with a group of six, the room told a different story. By 7:30 p.m., the dining room was nearly empty, and yet the service felt oddly unmoored—pleasant enough, but uncoordinated, with long pauses and a notable miss on a promised gluten-free dish that arrived so late it barely mattered.
The food followed suit. Two salads were competently dressed but forgettable. A salmon pasta and a chicken pasta leaned heavily on familiarity without delivering depth, while the spaghetti with meatballs lacked the slow-simmered conviction such a classic demands. The vegetable piadina hinted at the rustic charm Tomatina aims for, but never quite landed. Even the soup, which should have offered comfort, passed quietly.
Nothing was offensive; little was memorable. Tomatina’s menu promises the warmth of Italian simplicity, but on this evening, the fire burned low, and the experience never quite rose to meet its ambition.
This Italian restaurant doesn’t even have chocolate for dessert…
The drinks were the only thing that were actually really good.
Italian Smash was a vodka based fruity cocktail that was heavenly!! For lunch I had the Carne Combo pizza and I loved it. Basic but very tasty sauce and not too much of it with various meat toppings.
Bottom line looking forward to going back and trying other menu items! I definitely recommend!!
