Ordered the Classic RJ Birguer to go. It was fresh, tasty, well presented, generous portion with onion rings that were amazing. I liked the atmosphere inside, its what I would call a “sports bar”. Good music relax vibe. Parking can be tricky because of the construction.

We loved it here. Our waitress, Isabel, was super fun and extremely helpful. Everything we ate and drank was appropriately dive-y while also being delicious. I REALLY appreciated all the vegetarian options!!! Usually they are nonexistent in sports bars.

Amazing food, incredible burger. Highly recommend. We came in at 11:00 on a Monday and the waitress was happy to see us anyway. The food came really fast and was all delicious. We tried the tacos, burgers, fries, and had some cheap coronas to boot.

Small local sports bar with good food. We got the potstickers and the sweet potato fries. Best fries I’ve ever had! So crispy and delicious the staff was very friendly. Our only complaint is that the place was chilly. Every time someone went in or out we got blasted with cold air.

I’m giving them 5 stars, but be careful if you order Ruben’s Reuben. Because Ruben Reuben isn’t a real Reuben unless you ask for a Ruben’s Reuben specifically with corned beef. Otherwise, you just get a turkey sandwich. But just know that it will be the best turkey sandwich you ever consumed in your life. Seriously amazing, I loved it. But it wasn’t corned beef. It wasn’t a Reuben. You live and you learn. And I was lucky enough to learn such a valuable lesson here at Ruben James by ordering Ruben’s Reuben, which turned out not to be an actual Reuben because it was just a turkey sandwich. Great restaurant though.

In the last few months, the kitchen has literally messed up our food every single time we’ve ordered (we probably order at least once or twice every other week). Super disappointed and frustrated to the point where we’re no longer planning to order food there anymore. Once or twice is understandable, but every single time? Sucks because the environment is fun and we love the staff. The kitchen really needs to get their act together though.
I attached photos of our most recent order – supposed to be a chophouse burger and the other meal was supposed to have fries with it. No sauce was included either. This is after my partner worked a really long day, made a 46 minute round trip, and waited at the bar for the food for a half hour.
Just make sure to check on your food when ordering takeout. No one else seems to. The food is great when they get it right though!

We love RJs. Great place to grab some bar food and watch a game. Awesome atmosphere during big sporting events. Food is very good considering the bar atmosphere. Wings are an obvious choice and are great. Another go to order is any of their wraps. They are delicious. Pictured is the crispy buffalo chicken wrap

Great downtown bar with and restaurant right on main st next to the theater. Used to come back here in college and found its still the same old RJ’s (which is a good thing). The food was good (1/2 off burger special on certain days), the service was top notch (our server was awesome) and overall my group had a great time.

I read the good reviews on this spot and was excited to catch a Saturday night baseball playoff game during a visit to Vermont with a local freind. I got a table ok but the place was getting packed with super loud people binge drinking and playing drinking games. The staff don’t even attempt to play a ball game with the commentary on; but rather blast superloud, distorted music at volume that made even thinking difficult to do. The louder the group of 20+ drinkers cheered, whooped and hollared- the louder the music got. The 3 gals working the bar did a good enough job serving food, but I have to say this is the worst bar experience I have ever had. We bailed after dinner and walked out in the 5th inning- which is a shame as it was the MLB playoffs and viewing options are few and far between in Burlington.
I have owned and operated 3 live music clubs and a bar…I have seen bands such as Motorhead and The Clash- I know and like loud music, but this was just shitty noise. I would avoid going on weekends perhaps
