This Italian sub double meat from Firehouse Subs measured in at 8” long 3” wide and over 4” tall!
With Chips and a drink it was about $10 more than Subway however it was more food than I had at subway ordering 3 6” subs of theirs.
They have a quality control process 2nd to none, they seal the back and the person who double checks orders signs off like a chain of custody bag for evidence.
It was founded by Firemen and the portions designed to feed a Fire Crew after a long crazy shift. A portion of every order goes to help First Responders.
I have over 1 Million Followers on Social Media, I give this an honest 5 Star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and will be sharing with my following!

Hubby is a BIG fan of sub sandwiches. Me? Meh, not so much but I’ve been wanting to try this place so after and eventful trip to menards, off I go! It’s an ok place. I mean, it’s got some ambiance but it’s a sub shop so it’s not going to be covered tables, low lighting, etc. Plenty of industrial tables and chairs though! Greeted immediately and gave my order to a cheerful young man. I ordered a club sub to go. The place was semi busy- it was 1230pm. 2 other people were waiting for their to go’s and mine was done about 10 minutes later. Not too bad. Got home and scored MAJOR wifey points for the sub! It’s piled ridiculously high with several meats, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, etc on whole wheat! You can even request the bread slices be hollowed out if you don’t want the carbs! That’s pretty cool!!!! The sandwich itself hits all the buttons. It’s delicious! You can taste every meat and the lettuce isn’t soggy, it’s crisp as are the tomatoes! Usually sub sandwiches are a soggy mess by the time I get home. Not this one! Hubby was rapidly approaching sub coma deliciousness and it makes me so happy when he’s happy! All in all, great place to get a sub. 4 stars on the atmosphere as it’s just a bare bones place and that’s ok! BUT! there is NOTHING bare bones about their food!

“USDA Choice beef brisket smoked for up to 16 hours, melted cheddar, mayo, and Sweet Baby Ray’s® Barbecue Sauce”.
Ordered this without the mayo & BBQ sauce,
GOT a sandwich of mostly FAT! see the photo attached of my sub and image of the advertised sub.
Spoke with the MOD and was told this is normal for Brisket to have fat, well this sub was about 3/4 FAT – Gross!!!!
I’ve had this sub before at the Shawnee, KS location and have NEVER had this problem with excess FAT!
These two photos do not show the same food as advertised!!!

Air conditioning is turned up! Almost uncomfortable to eat. Price are outrageous!! $42 for 2 sub meals. Dirty tables and floor. Kinda like eating in your garage.

Don’t bother. They prioritize online orders over walk ins. Took them 20 minutes to finally get me a meatball sub. It’s literally five meatballs and two pieces of cheese on bread. Shouldn’t take more than a few seconds to make. They started telling people who walked in behind me that it would be a 20 minute wait and most turned around and left. Which I would have left too. Having said that, my sandwich was good. Just a ridiculous business practice to turn away walk in customers in favor of online orders.

The staff is always very friendly (and recognizes you if you’ve eaten there often like I do). I’ve never had terrible service, and the couple times there was a mistake on my order the staff fixed it quickly with no problems. Firehouse Subs is the best place in Lawrence to get a sandwich!

I ordered on the app and my pickup time was incorrect. The staff helped me straighten it out and made my sandwiches quickly for me. They were great and very kind! Sandwiches were excellent! We have been coming here since my children were little and wanted the fire hats, and they are in college now! Great place to eat!

There was plenty of good food to be had here! I had the Engineer sub with turkey. There is a huge selection of hot sauce for those interested. Also a nice Freestyle coke machine for almost limitless beverage options and free refills. The kids got some fun toy firefighter hats!

Walked in with my son at 8:45 pm after his baseball practice. A lady was waiting for her order, nobody in line to order, we go up to the counter to wait to order. One employee up front was making her order so we’re fine waiting. Nobody said anything to us, other employees in the back area. He finishes and hands her the food, doesn’t say anything. She says “thank you have a good night!” He remains silent. We stand at the counter for a few more minutes, not getting acknowledged at all or even a “hey I’ll be right with you” the dude won’t even look at us so we left. My 13 year old son asked me why was that guy so rude?
I don’t mind waiting but at least greet or acknowledge your customers and don’t just ignore them and let them stand around for 5 minutes like you’re mad they had the nerve to try and order food from your restaurant.

Expensive for what you get. I ordered Medium Club & when I got home, there was no bacon on it.
I’m really disappointed for a sandwich that cost $11, a price thats higher than the average here.
We got a total of 2 sandwiches & they both had less meat than they used to, which also adds to the chagrin over the higher price.
On the plus side the other ingredients were good tasting & the staff were nice and the sandwiches came fast, but that doesnt make up for the other issues.
Sorry, I’m not going to go to the website – it defeats the purpose of the business replying to comments if they are aren’t actually paying attention to them, imo?
