Snowy opening time . It was such a pleasant Saturday morning. Thank you. .
I was preparing to go on a barbecue trip with taxas. I didn’t know there was a Texas-style barbecue near my house. We gave up our trip to Texas and decided to eat here instead. I enjoyed the meal so much. The very kind boss and staff were also in a great mood. It’s a restaurant with five stars.

Anticipation was high because few establishments have a 5.0 star rating. Co-workers have shared many positive reviews. Now having enjoyed a hearty lunch, I rate the same.

The interior was larger than expected and is pleasantly decorated to the Texas BBQ theme. We arrived as first patrons for lunch permitting time to select from many options. The lure of an uncommon brisket burger was selected with a side of mac & cheese. Both were fantastic with the flavorful burger leaving most of the creamy M&C to bring home for dinner. The portion sizes are Texas large and remain great value for the prices. A forkful taste of the juicy pulled pork is a RSVP for another visit soon.

I’ve traveled across the country and eaten at some of the best barbecue spots in Texas, Georgia, St. Louis, and Arizona. I can honestly say that John Parsons might top them all. The owner’s story is incredible. He worked and trained at renowned barbecue spots across the country, pulling inspiration from each one to build his own vision. It is also incredible to see how much he loves what he does and the pride he takes in his craft, cutting no corners, even shipping wood in from Texas for the smokers. The fact that we have barbecue this good in PA blows my mind. I highly recommend this place. It’s a must visit and the best barbecue in the tri state, maybe even the entire country.

Stopped by John Parson’s for the first time today because I was craving a brisket sandwich. And boy did they deliver! I specifically asked for my sandwich to be a moist cut (vs a lean cut), it was thick, juicy, and unadulterated. The gentleman working behind the counter was delightful and offered us a sample of brisket while giving some insight to his cooking career across the US. Will be back!

This restaurant really exceeded my expectations—the food was delicious! The staff were very friendly and polite. The brisket was incredibly tender and juicy, with a smoky flavor that wasn’t too salty or overpowering. The portions were generous as well. I highly recommend it and definitely want to come back to try other types of barbecue they offer.

We’re talking Texas ribs, Cole slaw, corn bread like no other. Plentiful array of sauces available while we prefer dry. Super friendly staff truly care for your dining. Plentiful tables for eating in. Clean bathrooms. We upgraded to the Spare ribs and really enjoyed the robust taste. Call ahead as they close whenever they run out.

Amazing, I mean AMAZING BRISKET. I was driving by after a long day of working on a house and turned around to try this new spot out. GLAD I DID BECAUSE THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!!!

The staff was friendly and very polite, made you feel like you were at a family gathering or something. Saw Charlie Crockett merch and the rest was history! John Parson was present and such a great guy to talk to!

The brisket sandwich was HEAVY and GENEROUSLY PORTIONED!!!

I don’t know what else to say other than that this is the real deal. Zig Zag, Fette Sau are great in their own right, but they’re in the dense city while John Parsons is a proper restaurant, roadside like in the south!

We ordered pulled pork and brisket for our Christmas party. Our guests said the meat was delicious!
What really amazed me was when the young lady took my party order she forgot they were closed for a holiday break. Instead of them calling me back to cancel my order, the owner came in just to fill our order and it was delicious!!! Now that’s amazing customer service!!
THANK YOU!!!

We work right up the street at asaptees and had to try this new local BBQ today. Wasn’t sure what to expect with it just opening last Saturday. I’m so glad I stopped in. Staff there is very friendly. It was nice meeting John and the girls. Brisket and Mac were amazing but my favorite part was the baked beans. Can’t wait to try everything else.
