Let’s break down the lineup:
– Korean Orange Chicken (Spicy): This wasn’t just spicy—it was a full-blown flavor intervention. Each bite was a sweet, tangy roundhouse kick to the taste buds. I briefly blacked out and woke up whispering “aloha” to my root beer.
– BBQ Chicken: Smoky, tender, and clearly grilled by someone who’s been blessed by St. Peter himself. I tasted char, love, and possibly a hint of island wisdom.
– Chicken Katsu: Crispy like a golden sunset, and so perfectly breaded it could be used as currency in a better world. I considered trading my car for a second portion.
– Teriyaki Chicken: Sticky, savory, and so well-balanced it could teach a yoga class. The glaze alone deserves its own Netflix special.
And then came the rice, mac salad, and vegetables—the holy trinity of Hawaiian plate lunch sidekicks. The mac salad was creamy enough to make me question my emotional availability. The veggies were steamed to perfection, clearly not just filler but a diplomatic peace offering to my arteries. And the rice? A fluffy canvas for the masterpiece above. After all was said and done(also settling), the damage was $35 for 2 people and a drink(including a tip).
Washed it all down with a root beer so cold and crisp it could’ve been served at a royal banquet. I sipped it like a sommelier evaluating a vintage cabernet.
The ambiance? A symphony of sizzling grills, friendly “howzit” greetings, and the quiet confidence of a place that knows it’s serving greatness. Michelin stars? Please. T&Y Hawaiian BBQ doesn’t need stars—it’s got galaxies of flavor.
I left with a full belly, a renewed sense of purpose, and a lingering scent of teriyaki that I now consider my signature fragrance.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Michelin, take notes. And bring a fork.)
Not worth it the BBQ beef was rubbery and bland.
The Kalua pork was mushy and just didn’t taste appealing.
The macaroni was bland.
The radio was so loud I didn’t feel comfortable and I couldn’t even finish the food i was served, what a waste of time food and money…
I won’t be coming back again
Highly recommend.
