I was recommended this place and decided to give it a try. We ordered a variety of sushi and started with the soft-shell crab appetizer. The miso soup had plenty of ingredients and wasn’t watered down. Everything was fresh and well prepared.

Best tempura ever! They make their own tempura batter and it shows! Lovely interior, excellent food and the family/owners do all the preparation, cooking and serving.
Located in Tacoma/Parkland it’s just off the freeway and worth the drive from anywhere!

Went for lunch on a Sunday. Service was great. Lovely clean little place. It appears family run. Nothing over the top, just good sushi for a reasonable price. Edamame was steamed well and very good. My friends and I had a nice time.

My family and I came in an hour before closing and had not ate for the entire day due to driving home from our vacation. We ended up getting three appetizers and three rolls and everything was exceptional, and the presentation was beautiful. It filled us up and there were a variety of options which makes this is our new favorite sushi place in the area for sure.

During our week-long trip to Seattle and Tacoma, this restaurant is, without a doubt, the best one we visited (already dreaming about coming back just for the food)! From the start, the service was spectacular. The prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering how delicious the food is and how generous the portions are.
The vegetable tempura roll was crispy, slightly warm, and delectable! It had a perfect blend of vegetables that didn’t feel heavy but perfectly filling. Looks are deceiving because the chicken yakisoba felt quite large while eating compared to the portion you seem to be getting – and it arrived sizzling in the hot plate! I couldn’t get it into my gullet fast enough! Having the Vietnamese coffee was the perfect choice to cut through the oil, with it being slightly bitter but still sweet and strong.
The chicken katsu sashimi bento is the best bang for your buck if you want to have a little bit of everything! The additional 3 piece sashimi is a great way to try some raw fish. The dressing on the sunomono is so refreshing, almost vinegary yet citrusy, which makes it a great palate cleanser in between bites of the sashimi and chicken katsu. On top of it all, the overall bento is aesthetically pleasing – 10/10 for presentation! Also recommend trying their maki rolls (you can opt to have them make it as a hand roll if you prefer).
In conclusion, give this place a visit whenever you can! You wont regret it!

Oh my goodness – I’m so glad I found this place! I had driven by it a few times in the past year and kept forgetting to go check it out. Today, while looking for a place to eat with my husband I remembered and we went around 12 PM.
I love the atmosphere – It doesn’t have that cold/clinical feeling like a lot of restaurants that open in the area. It felt unexpectedly relaxing.
When the food came, I just could not believe the presentation. I think post Covid we are all used to paying more for less, including when it comes to customer service and aesthetics. I ordered a bento box and it came so pretty, I almost didn’t want to eat it.
I was stuffed by the end of it and my husband was really happy with what he ordered as well.
Miso soup was delicious – side of rice and hot tea was included.
We will definitely be back!!

Finally a decent sushi restaurant. Miso soup 5/5 plenty of tofu and seaweed, base was rich, perfect. Tempura was light and crunchy, could have used a smidge more dipping sauce with the amount of tempura provided in the entree and the broccoli flourett was too large, but otherwise solid. The fish on the sushi is of an obvious good quality and fresh, slices on sushi nice and thick. The black mamba roll is a solid roll for people that usually get nigiri or sashimi, plenty of fish, loads of tobiko. Great experience, will be sure to stop here again next time I’m in the area. Glad this isn’t close to my home, my wife would bankrupt us insisting on eating here all the time.

Kamei Sushi blew me away. The space is clean and stylish, and the food matches the vibe. The chirashi bowl was super fresh and beautifully put together, and the chicken katsu was crispy, juicy, and packed with flavor. Server was the sweetest lady, friendly and on point. Easily a go-to date spot. We’ll be back!

We travelled an hour from Shelton in search of good sushi for a birthday dinner with kid friendly options. Kamei exceeded expectations for the whole family! Bonus points for the atmosphere. Love this family run business!

The atmosphere at this place is really good, the music isn’t too loud and staff are very welcoming. The food was great, such nice presentation. The Thai tea was really good and I loved the presentation, it felt fancy. The only issue we had was that the booth chairs were a bit to far from the table and we had to sit on the edge to eat. Not a biggie but something i noticed.
