My mother and I have ate here 4 times in the last 2 and half days. Food is outstanding, in taste and looks. Homemade biscuits that are wonderful. My FIL always called them cat head biscuits because they are so large. Employees very friendly! Always willing to change or add what we needed. What you would expect in a family diner. And they know the locals by name, even remember our prefered drinks without having to ask. And made us coffee to take with us when it was snowing. Each time I go thru, I will return. It is the best hidden gem!

Its nice to see a old school diner that is family oriented and has great customer service! Inside is a gem and the food is still good. Prices are great and I came back each day I stayed there at the Hampton. Good food selections and the burger were good.

I’ve ate here several times, but today will be my last time of eating here, The mozzarella sticks was so overdone that they were gritty and brown, and the burger that I ordered had wilted, lettuce, and soft tomato on it, when I went back to have it correct the lady at the counter got a attitude and told me she would refund my mozzarella sticks but not for anything else, that no one else complained, I’m not everyone else I’m a single person. Long story short I got a burger remade but still had to pay $26 for food that wasn’t even right. NEVER AGAIN.

What an amazing place! Great character, awesome food – and the prices are unbeatable. Had the double cheeseburger and buffalo chips – wonderful all the way around.

I wanted a place to stop for lunch not too far off the interstate, but I didn’t want to stop at a chain restaurant. Surry Diner was exactly what I was looking for: good food, lower prices, and an ambience that was like stopping at the mom-and-pop diner near where I used to live. I can’t recommend any better if you’re anywhere near exit 93 off I-77 in North Carolina.

We lucked out in eating here on our way to Florida!! We were staying at the Hampton In. Across the road and the restaurant we were going to eat at was unexpectedly closed for a day or two so we went to the Surry Diner since it was so close and we had had a long day of driving. The ladies in the kitchen were so pleasant! My wife and I ordered the prime rib special ( on the Friday) and it was without a doubt the absolute best prime rib I have ever had!! The server was so nice and friendly. I just love going to family owned and operated diners like the Surry Diner. It felt like I was at home with my mom and dad having a great home cooked meal!!
