It was my first time at Via Sforza.. We had heard wonderful things about this restaurant from friends so we took the trip to Connecticut from New York.. Everything exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the ambiance was warm and the service outstanding. I highly recommend it and will definitely be returning soon!

First of all- the team of servers – just about everyone- no matter who they were, when they had a free moment, offered to assist me and followed thru with kind service without me even asking- they look for positive, impactful opportunities and they offer help. They were EXCELLENT! The ambiance is fantastic.
I sat at the small bar and it is an interesting watch of the expert line and pizza cooks, a TV for sports, etc. Plus the bartender/ takeout payment taker was VERY friendly and helpful to my ice teas and to the others of the service team. They had an outdoor party for (est) 30ppl, it was early 5:30pm so another 12 inside diners, and approx 10 takeout order pick ups during my 45 mins. They are a popular Italian restaurant who has earned this popularity. The food was a 9/10 ( and I’m a challenge to impress as you know ).
The large portobello stuffed with Goat Cheese were tender, full of contrasting taste blends and were delicious. The Italian bread/ pizza bread chunks were great. My entree- Lasagna- was fresh, tasty cheese & meat fillings, and the sauce was a complement. One minor thing- the very outer edge of this large portion was a pasta ribbon. It is exposed during cooking so it was cooked to a solid, hard crisp- not in keeping with the entire soft large interior lasagna portion. Figure out how to change this or remove it prior to serving. I finished with a strawberry Sponge cake ( named Mimosa Cake- same name as the bartender! ) dessert and it was the perfect, light, creamy and fruit flavorful ending to the Italian meal. PS. I wanted a regular sized pizza ( to eat a few slices and take the rest home for later ) to try their pizza ( and my pasta too). But they only serve smaller 10″ pizzas to the dining room customers and 12″+ to take out orders???

I love eating out at restaurants, and this easily has been the best Italian food and atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. The portion sizes are perfect for how rich the food is and all the spaces in the restaurant are beautiful and intentionally decorated. Incredible restaurant.

I hosted my bridal shower at Via Sforza and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The space itself feels like a little slice of Italy—warm, inviting, and beautifully designed. It was the perfect setting for our celebration, and I received so many compliments from my guests. I’m thrilled with how everything turned out!

Hey, let me tell you guys something. Come in close, okay you listening? This place is authentic, cozy, well priced and run incredibly well. The service here is fast, professional and organized. The owner cares about his now 30 year old business and it shows. The restaurant is impeccably clean and well taken care of. Come here if you want a nice Italian meal in a friendly/cozy setting. You won’t be disappointed! Date night and family night! Lunch here would be a good option too as the food here is of a super high quality.
Sincerely a pleased and satisfied customer!

Cute Italian feel! Staff was amazing and food was even better! The Bolognese and Caesar salad is my favorite. Marco and Maddie were friendly and knowledgeable! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Authentic southern Italian cuisine with consistently good food. A warm and inviting atmosphere with terrific service. A true family run restaurant. The wine list is very good and the pizza is some of the best in Connecticut. I highly recommend this restaurant for its “Barese” food.

Horrible experience from start to finish (and beyond). Arrived a min early for our 7p rez, waited 6mins until someone even acknowledged us (and the other waiting guests), waited even longer until our table was ready. By 8p, our salad appetizers still hadn’t arrived. By 8:40p our entrees were finally served except my sister’s. When she asked how much longer until her food would be ready the reply was: I’m not in charge of the kitchen! Like, how dare you ask! The food was mediocre and not hot. We would normally get desserts and coffees but it was 9:15p, we had our kids with us and this place was so deep in the weeds we chose to skip it. And here’s the kicker, at 1am my 11yr old was sick to her stomach and threw up her entire meal. Definitely cannot recommend.

Inside there were seats, but we wanted sit outside and enjoy this authentic Italian atmosphere in a summer evening with Dean Martin and the crickets. For this we then had to wait 45 minutes. We had the set menu and a Pizza Capri. The pizzas are like in Italy – thin and not deep pan. At the end, we were spoiled for choice to pick us a dessert. The Lava Cake was absolute top just like the lime sorbet. A proper Trattoria. A really nice evening.
