I’ve been getting the same sub at Vinny’s for almost 20 years (the fonzi + I add may & red onions)
I’ve tried to find other delis that can match how good this sandwich is and no other deli has ever lived up to it.
the bread is amazing, the meat is great & portions are generous- it’s perfect.
And the staff is so so nice- Vinny himself is such a great guy & always so kind.

Nice place. Sandwich rolls very fresh. Chicken cutlet was excellent, turkey salad good but maybe a bit too much mayo. Wanted to taste the Turkey and cranberries but it hit the spot and I would return for sure. Places to sit in or out. Friendly staff. Cool vibe. They offer free meals for those who can’t pay. Customers pre-buy $10 gift certificates for those who need a delicious meal. Icecream Shop right next door. $35 for 2 sandwiches($12 each), potato salad and 2 drinks. Just started a new job in Wallingford at a repair shop that is has new ownership, so we are looking for good lunch spots. Let me tell you this sandwich was one of the BEST I’ve had in a LONG TIME! The roast beef was so tender and flavorful, the horseradish was the perfect amount. All of us sat in silence eating because of how good the sandwiches. This will be our go to spot for now!

I tried Vinny’s for the first time and all of the superficial beauty that someone might think, at first glance, makes up for a downgrade in quality or service, and discovered, nothing could be further from the truth. There is no hype, just a great deli team of happy people loving their jobs. Vinny is on site, knowledgeable and as helpful as everyone. I felt the spirit of Elvis Presley and the look of a deli in Time Square, with a very local touch. I skipped the roast beef this time and went with the Leo, #58, hot corned beef (made in house), melted Swiss, thousand islands, and cole slaw on a hard roll. When I tell you this was great corned beef and an incredibly tasty sandwich, I mean like heaven. Corned beef was tender, tasty, fell apart perfectly and melted in my mouth like cotton candy. I think I’ve found the deli I will always think of first when I think of the greatest.

I stopped by this afternoon and had a great chat with the owner about his business, Wallingford, and about the legendary Zingerman’s Deli in Ann Arbor, MI. Here’s the real deal: Vinny’s tuna sandwich far surpasses Zingerman’s in taste, presentation, and price. I highly recommend this amazing Connecticut treasure. I’m a new loyal customer! Can’t emphasize this enough – you can tell when a business really cares about its customers.

Second time I’ve been here and there roast beef sandwiches are amazing! Warm roast beef with just the right amount of horseradish on a caraway seed roll that is nice and soft. Definitely try it out!!

Hands down, best roast beef sandwich I have ever had. I had the Ana V sandwich, and my wife had the thanksgiving turkey sandwich, both got a Vinny’s deli soda, and some cookies. Everything was delicious and fresh! And you get to listen to Elvis the whole time! Great experience!

Got the over-nighter, it was awesome. The bun was light and still crispy – had kosher salt and fennel seed, which was a great addition to the sandwich.
The beef was tender, moist, and cooked to perfection.
The restaurant is quirky and has so much ‘local’ personality.
I loved the sign offering customers a $25 reward for reporting employees who don’t use gloves in handling food.
I’ve lived in Wallingford for 2 years and finally tried the deli – so glad I did.
