We go for coffee and pastry or a sandwich. Never tried their cooked meals. A bit noisy at times but always a great experience.

My kids love to stop here when we visit family in Miami. Pan con bistec is delicious! This time I tried their club sandwich with a croquette! So good. Service was quick. We got 4 senoritas to go! Love them! Quick, clean and delicious.

About a month ago, I placed an order for a custom cake for my son’s birthday. We were so overjoyed and satisfied to see the excellent decoration, exactly what we asked for. We were all impressed by such delicacy and artistry on the cake. Thank you to the hands that brought us joy. Thank you so much.

Wow. This CAO bakery is just simply amazing. The bakery items were so fresh and tasted so good. I got a Pan Con Bistec and it was delicious. Simply the very best I have ever had. Cafe con leche was hot and flavorful. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. I got a birthday cake for my son. Everyone raved about it. This is going to be my new go-to Cuban Bakery. A+++++++++

Reason for the one star is that I work hard in construction and I eat lunch and stop at a near by bakery for a oastelito and a coffee,I look forward to this image my disappointment when they bring me my pastelito and when they go hand me my coffee she turns her back to me because she was making me a left over coffee that was sitting in a cup already made from earlier and not recently because there was no one there. I told her forget the coffee and had to go back to work with no coffee now I’ll never ever visit that cao bakery again that’s just how I am..

The coffee and its derivatives are really bad. They don’t have any idea to make a good cappuccino. The place is beautiful and new and its employees are not prepared to provide a quality service

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Cuban-American Gem in Palmetto Bay!
I recently stopped by CAO Bakery & Cafe in Palmetto Bay (16701 S Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33157), and I’m already dreaming of my next visit! From the moment I stepped inside, the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked pastelitos and rich café con leche wrapped me in a hug of Miami’s culinary soul. This place nails the balance of authentic Cuban flavors with a modern, approachable vibe that makes everyone feel at home.
The menu is a love letter to Cuban-American classics. I started with a guava and cheese pastelito, and it was pure magic—flaky, buttery pastry with a perfectly balanced sweet-tangy filling that melted in my mouth. The ham croquetas were crispy on the outside, creamy inside, and bursting with flavor. I also tried the Cuban sandwich, stacked with juicy pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on perfectly pressed Cuban bread—every bite was a taste of tradition done right. And don’t sleep on the café con leche; it’s bold, smooth, and the ideal companion to their pastries.
The staff was friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The bakery itself is clean, bright, and welcoming, with a modern touch that still feels true to its Cuban roots. I loved learning about their story—three generations of the Cao family’s baking legacy, now elevated by Tony Cao’s vision of blending Cuban classics with American flair.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, CAO Bakery & Cafe is a must-visit for authentic flavors, top-notch quality, and a warm atmosphere. I’m already craving another pastelito and a cortadito for the road. Palmetto Bay is lucky to have this gem!
