My son who just turned 18 chose this place for his birthday dinner. Food was great. My 7yr old loved that we sat in very tall chairs!! Our waiter was excellent, kept our drinks up, very attentive. All in all a great place, atmosphere.

Ok, let me say first off, I usually don’t like places like this because I feel they’re overhyped and overrated, but there’s a reason this place is busy every day of the week. That reason is that the food is really good. The poutine fries were excellent as were the Peruvian shrimp tacos. The braised short rib Bolognese had such a depth of flavor that you’d swear it was cooked for at least 6 hours. Also, service was quite attentive and at least one manager asked us if everything was good, a sign that they care about the customers. The place was packed by the time we left and still they took the time to show their appreciation. I just wish the restaurant was closer to Philly, as I would be there every weekend. P.S. Keep up the great work and a big shout out to the kitchen staff for creating such tasty food.

We occasionally eat at this Kid Shelleen’s location. I was very disappointed on our visit tonight. The portion size of the Fish & Chips was very small for the price ($20.95). The service was slow and we needed to ask numerous times for items.

Had a company lunch there on Thursday 1/30/25. We sat on the outside patio area to accommodate the size of our party. They had two servers taking care of 35+ people. They both did an absolute PHENOMENAL job. Our drinks were always refilled and the plates were removed when we were finished eating. I can’t say enough good things about them. I can’t remember their names but I hope they know who took care of us.

Our visit the other evening Monday was a disappointment with small portions that had no personality. Basically I felt that I was eating a frozen fish and chip from a gas station microwave. I suggested the crab cake to my out of town guests and the plate with one crab cake looked more like a stirophome Chinese takeout. The food was very average and whoever was working the kitchen had no real experience serving quality food. Last time we ate there it was really good and we took a chance and ordered lobster rolls and to my surprise they were as good as any from Maine. With the prices low quality food small portions I will not return. I will say the atmosphere was dark clean and the waitress was really a sweet gem of a person. The hostess did not welcome us she did not speak or smile I guess this is their standards.

Hi Michael, I just wanted to personally thank you. The braised short rib was perfectly cooked and honestly one of the most delicious meals I’ve had. You did an amazing job, I really appreciate your talent and hard work.

First time. Got a beer not on draft, only bottle….. Wish she would of asked if I wanted a glass. Half order nachos was good enough to serve 3-4 ppl so more than plenty. Kid burger was good, medium rare was exactly that. Had a custom burger for myself @ 6oz, which was more than big enough for the small to average eater.

My wife and I decided to check this spot out on a Sunday evening. We sat at the bar so we could watch the 49ers and Lions game while we ate. There were 2 bartenders…neither was very attentive. We had to wait for drink refills even though there wasn’t a lot of people in the restaurant. I ordered the Farmhouse burger. The burger was cooked exactly how I requested and it was very flavorful. My wife ordered the hot roast beef sandwich. It was extremely dry and looked like it was sitting for hours. She sent it back and asked to have it replaced. When it came back out it looked a little better but still seemed dry. I guess this is just how they serve their hot roast beef sandwiches. There was a lady that I assumed was the manager standing at the end of the bar but she seemed more concerned with conversating with the a couple local patrons more than running the restaurant. The bar was the busiest section of the establishment but it still seemed neglected. Overall I would give our experience a 2.5 out of 5. Food was so so and the customer service was below average. The highlight of our evening was interacting with the bar patrons sitting next to us.

05/13/25 Update: Updating this at Google’s request except there’s not much to update. The place still rocks.
06/08/23 Update: Google asked me to update this review. No real change. I came here with my son and it was great just as it was the other times I’ve visited. I got the burger and my son got the cheese steak. Both were excellent.
The last time I visited Kid Shelleen’s was over a decade ago in Trolley Square. So long ago that I only remembered it was a decent place. Then I saw that they recently opened a new location in the suburbs, so we decided to try it. Yes, it’s Kid Shelleen’s so it was what some might consider a bit pricey, but I expected this and we were pleased. We’ll most likely go back. Their menu is available online and it can get busy. We got there just as it began filling up.

First visit on a Wednesday evening for dinner and the place was busy & hopping. Luckily were seated immediately. They also have a bar area which was full. The ambiance was clean and pub like. It has outdoor seating during the spring with a gas fire pit. Service by Trace was exceptional. Menu is diverse with entrées costing in the lower 20’s. Ordered a grilled flat iron steak which was juicy and delicious. My partner had the Ahi Tuna Tartare which was sublime.
Definitely a great addition to the Northern Wilmington area and will highly recommend.
