The Wild Rose has been one of our favorite spots, but the most recent visit yesterday was a huge disappointment. We ordered a medium surf & turf and it came out raw. The lobster was raw as well. My shrimp scampi was the most watery pasta I’ve ever had. I was expecting much better entrees considering the surf & turf was $75 and the shrimp scampi was $38. Very unlikely that we will be coming back here. The food quality and service are inconsistent. The only amazing things about The Wild Rose are the brussel sprouts and Italian sodas.

An absolutely exquisite dining experience! I was floored by the flavors. From the atmosphere to the service and quality of food, this place is one of the best in Utah for fine dining. The beef tenderloin was insanely delicious and melted in my mouth. Every bite offered a distinct and advanced flavor profile; obviously the work of some very talented chefs. I will be back!

While visiting from out of town we were able to make a reservation here with no set expectations. The atmosphere inside displayed a simple welcoming elegance. We did choose to sit on the outside patio and enjoy the beautiful evening temperatures. Our server was friendly, prompt and informed. We all enjoyed our dishes and agreed the elk chops were a must try and they were so good and perfectly prepared. The shrimp scampi was classic with nice size shrimp and great flavor. The salmon was good although none of us were a fan of the olive tapenade caper relish. It may have taken a bit away from the very nice piece of salmon. The scallops and Brussels sprouts were amazing. The dinner cocktails were good. The espresso martini was under par. Our server did warn us it was more of a coffee martini so we probably should have listened because it was the only disappointment. Would absolutely come back as they had some other amazing selections to choose from.

Went out to Christmas dinner with some friends and had a wonderful time.

The food is definitely expensive and the wait staff was just a tad overenthusiastic, but they did a fantastic job of making sure we had everything we needed. The meal was as close to perfect as I have had and the atmosphere was extremely pleasant.

Everything was clean, and well cared for, the staff was polite and knowledgeable, and the ambience was soothing and comfortable.

I would highly recommend as a spot for special occasions, or an intimate setting without the stress of many other restaurants.

The Wild Rose in South Jordan hit me with a culinary spatula to the face, it was so good I almost cried into my fish. Food was literally amazing, and the service could have convinced me I was royalty.

But then I wandered into the bathroom and things started unraveling, suddenly I was transported back to the golden age of junior high restrooms, where tile grout dreams go to die.

The finishes around the dining room looked like someone’s cousin, who once finger painted a macaroni project, was given free rein with a Home Depot credit card.

Honestly, the vibe screamed “I studied architecture in preschool, got a participation ribbon, and now I design restaurants.”

It’s like Michelangelo painted the food, but the interior design committee was led by a toddler with a sugar rush and a glitter obsession.

Still, I’m convinced that you should come for the food, stay for the service, just don’t make eye contact with the décor or you might lose your appetite.

Went to Wild Rose as a celebration of our wedding anniversary and were excited to try a new place. The service, staff, and atmosphere were fantastic.

The mocktails were great, albeit incredibly sweet for even American standards.

I give their “house made butter” and bread a passing grade at best.

The Chopped Salad was great, the Caesar Salad left a bit to be desired as it was quite literally just some folded leaves of lettuce. While it did look nice, it would be a red flag of things to come. We ordered the lamb and the elk as our main entrees, both were asked to be prepared medium rare.

The lamb came out well and cooked as asked, the elk on the other hand came out so far cooked to the other end of the spectrum that “medium well” is being generous. For the prices we’re paying, it was atrocious for them to mess up that badly. You could get more accurately cooked meats out of an Applebees. That then opened our eyes to just what we were dealing with in terms of dish quality. Three boiled asparagus strands (unseasoned), a single slice of carrot (unseasoned), a plop of mashed potatoes that tasted so bad I’d rather eat the instant stuff from a Walmart (unseasoned) and a final smaller plop of sweet potatoes (unseasoned), but at least they put in the effort of cramming the mashed potatoes through an icing dispenser to attempt to trick you into thinking it looks nicer than it tastes. This is all then combatted by some sort of bland BBQ sauce (that’s how I’ll describe it) included with the meat that sadly didn’t elevate the dish to something I’d recommend to anyone. The food was such a stark contrast to the atmosphere and quality of staff that it was jarring.

The word I’ll choose to describe this experience is “larping” or a bunch of people pretending to be a fine dining experience while I wouldn’t serve their food at a church potluck even if I hated the people there. I feel really bad for the restaurants that were advertised on the front desk as part of a coupon deal for having to be tangentially associated with this place.

But the lamb passed so, saving grace right there.

The Christmas party for my office was held here for two years and everything was great both times. I liked everything so much I ordered the same items this most recent visit. The chicken and grits were really good, and the chocolate almond Torte might be one of my favorite desserts I’ve ever had.

Great portion sizes and good service! This has been on my list of places to try, and I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered the steam little neck clams, chopped salad, Tecumseh Farms Free Range Chicken, New Zealand Elk Chops, and the Creme Brulee. I’m glad they offered complimentary bread cuz they’re not included with the clams, lol. I think they gave us 2 orders, and the bread went amazing well with the clams. I’m a big fan of dipping the bread in the buttery sauce!

I really enjoyed the elk. There are only a few steak houses that I can say are absolutely epic, and the elk from this restaurant is on that list! It was cooked properly (rare, of course), and so tender. I love gamey meats, so i always go for them when they’re available. This one wasn’t too gamey, but perfect.
