Small cozy spot with a relaxed atmosphere. You order at the bar and the service is quick and friendly. No alcohol, but the focus is clearly on the food. The menu is small but thoughtfully put together, and everything feels fresh. The handroll sushi is especially great and definitely worth trying. A nice casual place to stop by when you want quality sushi without the fuss.

So happy we finally have good Japanese food in the neighborhood — that’s exactly what Ridgewood was missing. My favorites are the sashimi bowls and the karaage chicken, both always fresh and delicious. I also love their tea selection. The owners are really sweet people and the staff is always very nice. Such a great addition to the area!

Really excellent food, love the minimalist aesthetic, and the people who own the place are extremely sweet. Dined in and got some miso soup and the tuna salmon jr bowl, each dish had little unique flares that I really appreciated, the flavors were perfect and the fish was super fresh

The perfect addition to the neighborhood!! We have really been missing a good Japanese spot with fresh fish near here. Good portions, quality, flavor, and pricing! And the chef and person taking orders were both lovely. Definitely will be a new weekly lunch spot (:

We came by end of day and got the salmon/tuna mini bowl, pork katsu sandwich, and karage to go – and it did not disappoint!

Cute new restaurant in Ridgewood selling variety of onigiri, hand rolls, and bowls. The karaage was my favorite. The katsu sandwich and the mini bowl were also a good size. A few tables inside and you’ll get your food quick.

It was amazing to be able to eat carefully prepared onigiri (rice balls) and miso soup made by a Japanese chef in New York! The beef bowl and beef curry also had authentic Japanese flavors and were incredibly delicious. (I highly recommend the fried chicken topping!) The seafood bowl was also fresh and had a taste that made me want to eat it every day. I want to try every single item on the menu; it’s all so delicious!

The Katsu Sando, Kare Age, Salmon Onigiri and Matcha Latte was to die for. I’ve lived in Japan for four years and I have to say this is the first Japanese place that brings the true flavors of Japan out. So so good. The staff was great and the chef has plans to bring more real Japanese food to the menu. So very excited!

First time trying Hi node. The food was excellent! The fish is super fresh and well prepared. However, the service was very lackluster. I felt like I was bothering the person working behind the counter. The most interaction I got from them was “mhm.” 03/04/26.
