OMG! This place is awesome! We’ve been looking for this kind of restaurant for years since our favorite arepa place in Mt Dora closed during Covid-19. We had a power lunch which was incredible. We will recommend and be back soon.

My first time at this Bakery but everyone was super friendly and patient while I asked a lot of questions! I tried the cheese empanada and it was so freaking good – crunchy on the outside, melted cheese on the inside, just a tad bit of sweetness and savory deliciousness. Tres leches – of course and something new I tried – dulce de leche panacota! They serve a ton of beverages too!
Clean, welcoming and well organized!

I had the Nutella cake, but really want to try the mocha cake and Oreo cake in the future!
As far as the empanadas go, the chicken one is the best, followed by the cheese then beef and Hawaiian.
The peppermint iced mocha hit the spot and disappeared much too quickly!
Mecatos Bakery and Cafe may just be a hidden gem in Apopka!

I’ve been to this location and other locations before, and the food has always been spot on. If there is ever anything wrong, just simply talk to someone and they will automatically resolve it without any question. But that Rarely happens. The reason why I’m writing this review today is because today I was ordering A bread platter and it was going to take like 10 minutes. I sat down in the convenient, small waiting area with couches and the lady who helped me at first Viviana, knew I was waiting and came to me and offered me a coffee while I was waiting. She asked me exactly how I liked it and she did not disappoint. This is the level of customer service that every restaurant should strive for. Provide quality caring individuals like Viviana. I personally thank Viviana for making my day so much better.

First impression was a great looking little cafe, tasty menu, and relatively busy when I arrived at 8am.
I tried to order ham and cheese but they had no ham. I ended up ordering a bacon egg and cheese on croissant. This sandwich was massive!! Have to say the bacon was meh, but the rest of the sandwich was absolutely delicious! Price was ok for the size!
There were tons of holiday special items for sale also. I’d 100% return and hope to try a few more menu items. Def recommend!

I am extremely disappointed with this establishment. The empanadas were likely stale and of poor quality, while the microwaved bacon was extremely unpleasant and greasy. The avocado toast was also subpar. The staff was also rude, which further diminished my experience. Overall, I am highly unsatisfied with my visit.

We had a party of 5 and they got everything correct, hot and fresh. The food was delicious, the service was amazing. The people taking our order were very organized and kind. Then there was a gentleman walking around making sure everyone had what they needed and seeing if we needed anything else. First time here would 10/10 go back again. We tried the hot and cold drinks, the combo deals, pastries from the Case and items from their hot food case. Everything was great, sandwiches from the combos are massive.

It’s been 10 months, I always tried to approach and mention to get better on quick service . You can have a drive thru , be the only there and wait 17 min for a coffee.
It’s shame such a great and delicious food it’s going backwards with service.
I come every other day and still the same issue all year long . Even when you try to let them know to improve .
Come on Mecatos you have a gold mine with product and quality but service is getting so behind.

Great Colombian bakery! I love the ambience and the food it’s so good! Great place to rest and wind down. They have plenty of parking and drive trough. The price it’s ok. No more food nearby.

When it comes to quick-serve Colombian food, I have zero restauants to refer to. But I can definitely say that THIS quick serve Colombian food was great!! I ordered an Arepa Mecatos and a Quesito.
The Arepa is: Beef, chicken, ham, lettuce, tomato, cheese, fried egg, pink sauce. The food was very fresh and really tasty. The cafe was clean and well attended to as well.
If you’re up for a field trip to the middle of no-where Apopka, you won’t be disappointed at Mecatos Bakery & Cafe!
My Stars Reasoning:
