The food at Maid-Rite is delicious, especially their chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders. Their breakfast menu is also superb, I love the breakfast burrito and the steak and eggs. The servers are very friendly, as are the cooks, and they will take very good care of you.

Pam was craving eggs, potatoes, and bacon for breakfast this morning, and I’m usually up for anything. So, we hopped into the new Santa Cruz and headed to the Newton Made-Rite for breakfast. They serve only breakfast entrees, from 6:00 AM to Noon every day, after that it turns back into a Made-Rite. Each time we’ve been there, it’s been an amazing experience. The pancakes are huge, fluffy, and have this delightful honey sweetness that I’ve never tasted anywhere else. The eggs are always perfect, and then there are those large, tender, and juicy sausage links—nothing beats them, especially with a drizzle of maple syrup. I’m not usually a big sausage fan, but I’d make a trip to this restaurant which fortunately for us located right here in Newton, just for and order of sausage, and I’d do it without hesitation because their food is that good. I especially appreciate the consistently excellent food and their friendly and helpful servers. I’m giving them a big two thumbs up, actually a four thumbs up!

Apologies for the poor photos; We both were so excited that we just dove right in the moment the plates hit the table, with photos being an afterthought.
For breakfast this is the best destination I and Pam have found to date anywhere.

This place is a real gem. True Americana cuisine. The history, the ambience and the uniqueness of this establishment made my meal very memorable. Newton is lucky to have this restaurant in their town.

I haven’t eaten a Maid-Rite sandwich in several years so I was really looking forward to having one. But I was disappointed in my sandwich. They used to put some sort of seasoning mix in the hamburger, but my sandwich never got any seasoning, not even salt. The hamburger was chopped up so small that it didn’t resemble hamburger at all.
It was always a bit of a mess to eat, and that was part of the allure of a loose meat sandwich. But this is not the Maid-Rite of yesterday. If not for a little mustard and a couple pickle slices, it would have been flavorless.
The service was excellent and so were my fresh, cooked to order French fries.
If not for the fries, I would give the Maid-Rite sandwich a 2.
Maybe a 1.5.

Was coming through town for work and wanted to stop for breakfast, pulled in right as they were opening but they were happy to serve us right away! Food was awesome, service was great, and the atmosphere of diner was very nostalgic. Had a great conversation with some of the regulars that love the place as well!

My parents are from Newton and always brought us to Maid-Rite when we were kids. We live in Chicago now so don’t get here often, but when we do it is the best. Best burgers for the last 60 years of my life. Keep up the great work and thank you for the memories. We will be back next time.

We used to come here as a family for years when visiting relatives and always stopped here for a Maid Rite. We always saw someone we knew and would catch up with the goings on in the town. After growing up, the number of visits became few and far between. This time, us three kids came for a celebration of life and specifically “needed” a Maid Rite. Unfortunately, we were unaware that they only serve breakfast on Sundays. Imagine our great surprise and gratitude when they served us Maid Rite sandwiches just because we were from so far away! (Seattle). Thank you so much to the staff here! You really made our visit special!

I ordered through DoorDash. Food was amazing. I ate the assorted donuts and Denver hash browns with toast and eggs. My first time trying your breakfast.
