The atmosphere here is nice and pleasant. The food was okay overall, not something I would come back for. The steak was a bit too thick, and the lamb chops had a strong smell that wasn’t pleasant. The mashed potatoes were definitely the highlight of the meal. Our waitress was friendly, but she did forget a few things throughout our visit. Personally, I enjoyed Brinkley’s a bit more.

This was a big valentines group gathering and was all our first time here. Well it was beautiful coming in and nice ambiance. We had to wait some past our reservation. We sat in a private room which was nice until the smoke started filling the room. It was so smokey and our eyes were all burning. We tried opening the door to help ventilate it which did help but you could see the smoke everywhere. The ventilation system there is horrible. The food arrived somewhat cold sadly. It would’ve been a perfect dinner if it was hot especially since I got the lobster and shrimp. We felt bad our waitress who had to bring the cart of food 4 times with no help like usually see with big parties. The smoke irritated me so much I had to keep putting eye drops because they were irritated and stinging. I also did not like that you are leaving this high fine dining expensive place like smoke. It’s like I was at a bonfire. My hair and clothes smell like smoke. It was so strong like I was in a fire or something. I wouldn’t come back just because of the smoke.

During our stay at the Crowne Plaza North Augusta, my husband and I had dinner at Salt & Marrow Kitchen. Even with reservations, we waited nearly 40 minutes for someone to take our drink order after being seated. While the staff were sincerely apologetic and pleasant throughout, the delay left a less-than-favorable first impression.

The menu offered some intriguing options, including kangaroo and ostrich, which definitely caught my attention. I opted for the lamb, and my husband chose the shrimp and grits. The food was decent, though not particularly memorable.

Despite the slow service, the staff’s kindness and professionalism stood out, and I’d consider visiting again to give them another try. Four stars for effort and hospitality.

Our server, AyAshia, was attentive and very knowledgeable of the menu. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth delicious, and the chicken pasta was very tasty. Our daughter loved the mac n cheese. We will definitely come back to this restaurant.

The food was excellent. My compliments to the chef. I had the grilled pork chops and my wife had the 6 oz ribeye. They were cooked to perfection, and the atmosphere is very nice.

Salt & Marrow delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Every dish reflected creativity and quality.

The customer service was equally impressive, attentive, warm, and professional without being intrusive. What truly elevated the evening was Chef Taylor personally visiting our table. Taking the time to engage with guests speaks volumes about the pride, passion, and care behind the kitchen.

Salt & Marrow is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates great food and genuine hospitality. We will definitely be back.

The two of us went the day after Valentines Day. As soon as we walked in it was obvious that the entire restaurant was filled with smoke. It was pretty extreme but it was our first time there. By the time we got our appetizer it was getting pretty rough. We asked our server if this was normal and was told that it’s not normal and that they were having issues with their exhaust fans. It was almost hard to breathe throughout the entire dinner. The smoke was so strong. It was burning both of our eyes. My eyes are still being affected 3 days later. I had my eyelashes done for the evening. I ended up having to have them removed because the smoke smell had absorbed into them so strongly it was burning my eyes to the point that I could barely see while at the restaurant and it continued to get worse throughout the night. The next morning I woke up with an awful migraine and my eyes still burning.
I must say that the food was delicious. My filet was cooked perfectly. One of our sides brought to the table, wasn’t what we ordered. By the time we got the right one we were almost done eating. They did offer us a free dessert but at that point we were so ready to get out of there. We just took it to go because both of our eyes were burning so bad.
We had a reservation for 7:45. I feel like they could’ve at least called to let us know. Hey, we’re having an exhaust problem just in case you have asthma or anything like that and given us the opportunity to make that decision before we made a 45 minute drive to come to their establishment. I am grateful that the company I keep makes up for the issues that sometimes arise in life!

Took my wife out to dinner for a special evening meal while in the area on a conference. We had eaten breakfast at the restaurant one morning, and we just finished dinner. Food at both meals were delicious. My wife is very fastidious about grits, and the Chef’s grits were perfect.

Our dinner meal was a 12oz New York Strip, the Blackened Pasta, and a couple of signature cocktails. The food was absolutely delicious from presentation to completion. We also split a hearty slice of the made in house carrot cake and it was excellent. We also had a visit from the Chef which is always a great touch.

Were were very satisfied with our food, our table service (very responsive and never intrusive), and the overall atmosphere.

I am writing to formally address the conditions during my birthday dinner at Salt & Marrow on February 13, 2025. The restaurant was excessively smoky, creating an unsafe and uncomfortable environment for my guests. Several individuals were unable to breathe properly and were forced to leave early. Some of my guests have asthma, and the smoke aggravated their condition, while others experienced burning eyes and significant discomfort.

Additionally, after leaving the restaurant, many of my guests reported that their clothes and hair were heavily saturated with a smoke odor. This was completely unacceptable for a dining environment and significantly disrupted what was meant to be a special occasion.

Given the circumstances and the impact on my celebration, I am requesting appropriate compensation. I would appreciate a prompt response outlining how you intend to resolve this matter.
