Reviews
There was only one person handling everything—taking orders, cooking, and prepping trays for pickup—while another staff member on the other side of the kitchen was distracted, chatting and having fun with someone behind the counter. This isn’t an isolated case. A few weeks ago, I had a similarly disappointing lunch at the Habit Burger in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Regrettably, Habit Burger isn’t what it used to be. The corporate culture seems to have drained the quality and flavor from the food they once proudly served. I don’t think I’ll walk into another Habit Burger again. Except the name, what’s is left is poor quality food, prepared by inexperienced and poorly trained staff, and bad service—that saddens me.
HOWEVER:
There is unfortunately an extremely toxic atmosphere of condescending attrition at this specific location
-towards customers who politely! try to correct an order The Habit got wrong, which wasn’t a big deal.
Two of the employees who addressed our order issue (one, a “manager “)
went WAY out of line with rash condescension- as if I were a pariah for even opening my mouth.
After brief explanation of the simple issue, the “manager” acted as if WE should have handled their mistake much differently,
then turned away while talking nastily in her headset directly to the other person (with the other headset) who was right in front of me.
That person (very clearly) had immediate disdain for my presence moments afterward, culminating in her snide, smirking, condescending attitude which was not provoked and very contentious.
What the heck??
Either these two truly hate their job,
-or
Management itself must be generating a rash of complaints, causing resentment
-or
(Even worse)
There was ignorance or prejudice at play here.
Either way, it is a shame we will not trust this location any further- yet again, another Moorpark food location that has problems that are unavoidable, forcing longer drives to the same named establishments.
UPDATE: Made the mistake of trying and trying out of objective and want for this location to get its act together. My God, where is the regional manager??? The SAME lame store manager STILL remains in this relatively new location… and STILL is the most IGNORANT restaurant manager I’ve EVER seen, outside of a very few small non-chain joints rarely encountered. She must really know how to turn on the charm to whomever is above her, wowww!!
…Ordered a Santa Barbara Char (by itself) waited 15 minutes in the drive through… and got it home to see it doesn’t even have the guacamole?? WTH???
Problem #2 on a separate visit. You got to get your ranch problem figured out. You guys raise the prices through the roof and now you don’t even give ranch for fries. My mother-in-law tried to order Ranch when it was not originally offered at purchase. Then at food pickup she was offered a ranch dressing. When she said yes they told her it was $0.60 and she had to get back in to the back of the line where there were five people in front of her. She explained the food would be cold by the time she stood in that line. Of course we just walked out. Ridiculous!. If you’re going to tell someone it’s $0.60 you better be prepared to take it right then and there. Not go to the back of the line. Get your stuff together, Habit.
Very disappointed since this ranch policy has gone into place, and not thrilled about the prices there.
Saturday 3/1 around 12 noon we a Double Char combo
Grilled chicken sandwich combo
Side of Ranch
Price seemed high but I didn’t pay much attention to it until I got home.
I realized they over charged me $5, since I had no receipt worked out to be a 10 % I did not approve. Keep a eye on your receipt
When we got the salad the salad had ranch, and I went over to say hey we asked for vinaigrette and she said it was our fault and tried to charge me for ranch. NOTE: My mom hates ranch, so I know for a fact she would never ask for it. Then to add to the embarrassment, she started to also blame my mom like it was her fault! Thats so unreal. I never been so disrespected. I even purchased two additional ranches right before that.
Horrible service, at a well established franchise everywhere else but Moorpark.
This is my first review in a long time, I had to reactivate my account just to write this.
I will not be going back nor any of my friends or family. I’ll make sure to let them know not to visit this location. I rather go to Simi Valley habit, I would rather even drive to Oxnard for better service!!
The only good thing was the food! The burgers were great, so shutout to the hard working cooks in the back. You are the real MVPS

To whom it may concern,
Unfortunately, I received unsatisfactory service from the team members at the Moorpark location. I have been coming to this location frequently since it has opened up recently and have been a Habit customer for around 3 years so I know the great customer service that the Habit instills in its employees.
Today, I was met with rude employees who gave us the wrong order and did not want to replace it. More specifically, I ordered a salad and I put on what I thought was ranch dressing. To my surprise, it was actually blue cheese and when I asked the employee what happened, all they did was give me ranch instead of reimbursing/replacing the salad.
Phone number listed on the Google map is not working.
You need to train your employees not only know how to charge a credit card, but also how to refund customers if they made a mistake.
