came here for my last dinner on my nyc trip and was very impressed. we dined on a monday and the restaurant was still quite busy and had a great ambience. the wine list is extensive and their chilled red is honestly one of the best that i have tried. we ordered arancini, the grape salad, tagliatelle, and radiatori. all were incredible, i especially loved the radiatori. the pasta tasted very fresh and the service was attentive. we also tried the date cake for dessert which was delicious. i wish we had somewhere like this in australia but i will definitely be returning on my next nyc trip.

Here’s the thing… I find nothing more appealing than when a restaurant has high principles and strong technique but does not show them off in flashy and attention grabbing ways. We walked into Soda Club off the street, drawn in by perfect lighting, cozy decor and that feeling that these folks knew exactly what they were on about. Service was on point and friendly. The herbed ricotta was creamy, decadent with jammy confit cherry tomatoes. The watercress salad sang with perfectly complimentary silky feta and sweet roasted grapes. The light, crisp Roman style carbonara pizza was perfectly balanced with gently fried artichokes, smoked mushrooms and bright, lemony arugula. We finished with gigli pasta showcasing white truffles, crispy leeks and a velvety cream sauce. Overall, a spectacular, thoughtfully prepared, soul satisfying feast. Now… here is the twist, half way through the meal, we asked about the spice level of the chorizo on another pizza. The server said, the -tofu- chorizo… wait… what? Tofu chorizo… is this place vegetarian?? !Vegan! We were shocked and delighted. And this brings me back to my opening gambit. This was the best vegan dining experience we had ever had (and we have enjoyed many) and there was not a hint of the virtue signaling that drags down most of the field. —Nothing— about the experience was sacrificed to promote ideals or a lifestyle imperative. There was clearly some masterful chemistry happening in the kitchen but no floating spheres or insubstantial foams. The meal was decadent yet sat lightly with us. Not a sliver of texture or flavor was compromised in the pursuit of healthy living. This was a delightful dining experience, executed with style, finesse and attention to every detail, and, oh, by the way, the food was vegan. Also noteworthy is the substantial, well curated natural wine list from which a glass of the Georgian Sapervani was a perfect compliment to our meal. Hats off to everyone involved. We could not be more impressed.

Service super, vibes are immaculate. Congrats to the chef for those dishes and flavours … wow wow. Never had these kind of combinations before. Highlights for us were the Carbonara Pinsa and the Date Cake (accompanied w the Hungarian Furmint which balanced perfectly)

I am going to attempt to relate what a delightful, even joyous experience. It was eating at soda club last night.

I think I could be classified a carnivore, in that I don’t remember going to a vegan only restaurant. But when I was doing my research for new places to dine here last week, I was so intrigued by the menu, I somehow missed the fact that it was vegan only. Honestly, I don’t think I would have chosen it. Now… I’m considering going vegan. But I’m not sure there’s another place like this.

It didn’t start off good. We had gotten up at 3 AM in Austin To catch the flight and were beat And ready to eat dinner early. After a cold walk/ long cab drive from where we staying near the park. we found ourselves at an innocuous corner a bit early a few minutes before it opened at 5:00. It is difficult to see before they open the door, but at five, a young man walked up and rolled up a graffiti covered garage door to reveal the inviting entrance.
We walked across the street to the friendly Niagara bar for a drink before ( recommended- great Village vibe )
Still unsure as to what we would find, we walked in to a wonderful cozy spot. We started off with a delightful French cab , exquisite.
By the time we had the focaccia, we knew we were in a kind of a magical space. We’ve had focaccia bread all over the world from California to Italy. This was undoubtedly the best. Dipped in a fresh garlic sauce that I can only describe as divinely inspired.
I had the carbonara which had an incredible smokey flavor with mushrooms and artichokes tempura . Uniquely delicious. My wife loved the Butternut Squash Medaglioni, and I was lucky enough to get a few bites. Never had anything like this.

The intimate dark setting is small but very well designed, and clean.

Our server Owen was gracious and very helpful with selections. After dinner, Katy stopped by our table and we went on even more than this review about how much we enjoyed the experience. She obviously really cared about our experience, as was evident by every detail of this restaurant.

I’ve never read the review this long. Bordering on a short story. But I was inspired … I think you will be too.

This place is amazing. For starters, my server Madi and the bartender Manu were great company. Manu played great music, made delicious drinks, and was a fun conversationalist. Madi showed me a bunch of great wines from across the world with super detailed flavor profiles, truly a fun wine-tasting experience. From Italy, to Slovenia, I tasted notes of strawberries, chocolate, raspberry and more.

She also made impeccable food suggestions and I was blown away by the focaccia, ravioli and arracinhi. We topped it off with a tiramisu.
Focaccia- crispy on the outside, soft, warm and buttery on the inside. The garlic and chili pepper paste to dip was a nice contrast to the usual olive oil at most spots.
Arracinhi- also very crispy. The star of the show here was the tomato sauce. Sweet and savory. Just straight up some great tomatoes.
Ravioli- Wow. Just WOW. A very happy marriage between lemon and creaminess. You would never guess it’s vegan. While it only came with 3 pieces, it was pretty filling. It also had these juicy mushrooms and sweet grape tomatoes that really added to the deliciousness.
Tiramisu- Delicious. Not too sweet, surprisingly a bit chocolatey. Great way to end the meal.

I don’t eat a lot of vegan food but after this meal I’d like to add some vegan spots to my rotation. Even my boyfriend, who said he didn’t want to eat vegan food, will most definitely be coming back. I would be more than happy to try the rest of the food, cocktails, and wines at this spot. Soda Club is my newest obsession and go-to elevated date spot. The vibe is homey, romantic, and intimate, while also being funky and innovative with their menu.

Great food! We had the Arugula and radicchio salad, which paired perfectly with the Calabrian pinsa. We also tried the Medaglioni pasta with the butternut squash. We paired the food with the chilled red Trollinger. Yummy!!
For dessert we chose the date cake – I loved the contrast between the sweetness of the cake and the saltiness of the ice cream.
The atmosphere was very cosy with the dim lights – staff was kind and efficient. I would definitely go back!

We were told that Soda Club was a must-try, and it did not disappoint! Our waiter, Hamat, was incredible, hospitable, and made the night very memorable. I would especially recommend the herbed ricotta and gigli.

Delicious vegan Italian in NYC. Great craft cocktail menu, nice pasta. My only critique is that the Tagliatelle was a bit bitter, perhaps they got some lemon pith in there, but the Gigli and our starters were very good!

I received a gift card for Christmas to Soda Club and finally got around to using it at the end of June. I hadn’t heard of this place, but I’m so glad I went! Truly, the other reviews are spot on – this place is a diamond in the rough when it comes to treating yourself to a nice vegan meal.

I was celebrating an anniversary on the night of the meal and the entire staff could not have been more kind and attentive. The staff went above and beyond to make the evening feel special, which is a rare find nowadays. The service was just…well, outstanding.

The vegan ricotta appetizer with bread and fresh tomatoes was my favorite of the couple we tried. As for the pasta, for me I really enjoyed the ravioli. The pasta is freshly made and you can definitely tell. I would definitely go back and would recommend anyone wanting a good meal with great service to enjoy their evening at Soda Club!
