1.26.26: I was in the area for an appointment and wanted to have lunch before my hour drive home. I’ve been to the Rancho Viejo in Post Falls and it was good, so I hoped this one was just as good.

It was late afternoon after the usual lunch rush. After walking in, we were greeted and sat right away–we were the only ones in the restaurant our entire meal. I didn’t know the name of our server, but at the end when we received our bill, it said our server was: Magui V. She was the only person we interacted with from beginning to end. She brought us chips and salsa and took our drink order. We both got Shirley Temples, which were super tasty. The salsa had a little kick to it that day and I liked it.

As for my entree, I went with the Enchiladas Cancun (see my pics for menu description) and my roommate ordered a combo plate with a taco and enchilada. Our plates arrived HOT! I loved that–nothing is more annoying than a luke warm plate of food that’s been sitting lol. My Enchiladas Cancun was great! I was hesitant about the spinach since I’ve never had it in an enchilada, but I like spinach so it was a winner. The shrimp, spinach, cottage cheese, and veggies melded well together with the cheese and green sauce. One of my favorite parts of a Mexican dish is the beans and rice and mine were spot on. My roommate said his taco and enchilada were pretty good and because he ordered this same exact meal at the other location, he felt Post Falls was a bit saucier.

Our server, Magui, surprised us at the end with a little dessert treat. It was what appeared to be a deep fried pastry chip with a dollop of whip cream and strawberry sauce–simple, yet tasty and I didn’t walk away with onion taste in my mouth from my meal. Definite positive!

Magui was an awesome server: attentive, checked on us at appropriate times, really friendly, and gotta give her love for the sweet bite at the end! I will be back again for sure.

Wife and mines orders were both incorrect. Had to send them back, clearly the kitchen was and so they gave us even worse food after that. Then had to wait 20 minutes for my tortillas as my food sat and got cold. I didn’t even eat my food it was so cold and the pork was like rubber. I told the waitress who was surprisingly nice about it. She brought me my check for 2 meals and 2 happy hour margaritas. It was $87 and we couldn’t even eat the food. We paid and left. Worst Mexican food in spokane and really overpriced.

I absolutely love this location. The employees are super friendly, theyre always smiling, welcoming and very polite. The last experience I had was above and beyond excellent service. I had a to go order. The girls put all the food and drinks packed neatly in a thick box. Everything fit perfectly, nothing was smashed or torn open. It was handed with care and respect. I have not eaten here as I just moved to the area and money is really tight but everyone I know that eats here absolutely loves it and cannot recommend it enough. Im so thankful to all the hardworking employees that make my job easier to deliver food, well packaged, on time and made to order fresh. I hope sometime in the near future my wife and I will get the full experience to eat at your fine restaurant. You guys are the best.

My husband and I had a great experience at Rancho Viejo! The service was excellent, and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. The portions are huge—definitely come hungry! The salsa and homemade hot sauce were absolute standouts, bursting with flavor and heat. Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for a satisfying meal with fantastic service on the hill.

Came in the night before Thanksgiving a little after 7 pm. No signs posted about closing early NOTHING. So we went in and was told they were closing in 10 minutes. Wouldn’t even serve us. I usually love this joint. POST THE HOLIDAY HOURS!

The Mexican food here is probably some of the best I’ve had in this region. The service was good and the place seemed clean. Nachos and salsa was brought to the table when we were seated. It was crowded at early dinner time which is always a good thing. The menu is quite extensive with a “small” portions section that, believe me, is not a small portion. Drinks come in a small, medium, and large size. We ordered a large margherita that was the largest I’ve ever seen; it was literally a bowl on a stem that could be shared by a table of four. I ordered the enchalata and taco combination off the shall portions menu, which comes with refried beans and rice; there are other side options available. It was good, but a little under seasoned. If you ask, they will bring a free dessert for each guest, that is a sweetened nacho with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Other desserts cost extra, as to be expected. A nice experience and good food. Enjoy!

I was not impressed w/ the chicken taquitos appetizer. I have had same dish elsewhere and they were great so was a little disappointed. Service was great. Sat at a bar table.

The enchiladas were nasty, we had the chicken, super dry, the pork slightly less dry, the ground beef had an odd sour taste. Do not order mazzatan enchiladas. Shrimp and crab only taste that fishy if it is old and frozen. The churro with raspberry yummy.
