From the hostess to the atmosphere loved this place. The 5 stars are for the AMAZING food & service. Absolutely delicious from apps, to main course AND including dessert. Best ribeye I’ve had (and I’ve visited alot of the Premier Steakhouse’s in Monmouth County. Amanda our server was very attentive and made sure we were pleased with every course. She was polite and professional and when we go back(we definitely willgo back) we’ll be asking for her exclusively as our server.

My boyfriend and I went to Red Horse Saturday night. When we opened the red door we were about to experience a night and restaurant to remember. It started with the hostess. She was delightfully pleasant. She checked our coats, Then we moved to the bar where it was happy hour. The bar was beautiful. The bartender was pleasant and made us great cocktails. The general manager anthony introduced himself to us also very nice and welcoming. Are table was ready and we proceeded to go to our table where it was set in front of a beautiful fireplace. The ambiance of the room was breathtaking. There was one piece of artwork that caught our eye. It was several pieces of blown glass . The waiter was kind enough to take our picture there. Mike our waiter was accommodating and also pleasant. He recommended some of the appetizers and dinners when we asked. The food and dessert was outstanding. When we were ready to leave the executive chef jeff came out and greeted us. He made us feel very comfortable and welcoming. Also was very interested in what we ordered. Before he left he told us next time to ask for him so he could come out and say hello. If I could rate this restaurant it would be 10 stars. We will definitely be back. Thank you David Burke and the staff at Red Horse.

Went last night for my 60th Birthday. Popovers to start which has now become the new side, for which they charge, but this is the new normal. They were delicious. Courses were each delicious, and we finished with a chocolate concoction that was creamy and custardy and for one who doesn’t care for chocolate? Really good. Nadine our waitress, was great and a breath of fresh air, keeping it real and refilling our drinks. One thing though, they need another salad on the menu. Other than that it was really good and we’ve been multiple times. Expensive yes, just south of $300 for two – but worth it.

Service was impeccable. Food was cooked perfectly and flavorful. Cocktails/drinks were good. Our reservations were for 6:30 and we were seated promptly. Our appetizers (bacon and salad) came out pretty quickly and then we ordered our meals. The server and bus boys were very attentive. After we finished our appetizers, they cleared out our plates and gave us new silverware. Our server continued to fill our glasses with water. We received our main entrees and we enjoyed everything. I ordered the pork chop/clams and boy was it delicious! We had the tree dessert with cotton candy and cheesecake pops. Everything was delicious! We will definitely go back. Thanks for a great night out!

Red Horse by David Burke in Rumson is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with just the right balance of elegance and comfort. The service is top-notch—attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being overbearing.
The food? Simply outstanding. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The seafood is incredibly fresh, the steaks are perfectly cooked, and the appetizers and desserts bring that signature David Burke creativity. The menu offers a great mix of classic favorites and unique surprises, making every bite an experience.
The drink selection is just as impressive, with a well-curated wine list and expertly crafted cocktails. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just looking for a great night out, Red Horse delivers on every level. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again.

We had an amazing birthday celebration made most special by our server Nadine. The food was amazing. The clothes line bacon brought a smile to the celebrant! The filet was cooked perfectly. The Bison short ribs were outstanding. The evening was topped off with delicious desserts of key lime pie, cream brûlée and chocolate moose. Highly recommend dining Wednesday through Saturday and ask for Nadine. My reason for 4 stars for atmosphere was the dimness of the main dining room. The elder members of our groups needed their phone flashlight. However the noise level low enough for lively table conversation.

Excellent birthday celebration for my husband! We were greeted by the GM Michelle who walked us to our table in the bar area, which had a nice selection of music playing in the background. A handwritten card and two glasses of prosecco were waiting at our table. What a beautiful touch! We ordered our drinks and were quickly served a perfectly chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc for myself and a delicious Manhattan for my husband.
To start our meal, we couldn’t resist the clothesline bacon and shrimp spring rolls. The clothesline bacon, hung like laundry, was crispy and smoky, a playful twist on a classic favorite. The shrimp spring rolls were light and flavorful, perfectly complemented by a zesty dipping sauce.
For our main courses, we opted for the seared scallops and shrimp with corn and pea risotto, and the NY Strip Steak with couch potatoes and onion rings. The scallops were beautifully seared to perfection, accompanied by a creamy risotto bursting with fresh corn and peas. The NY Strip Steak was tender and juicy, paired with indulgent couch potatoes and crispy onion rings that added a delightful crunch.
Dessert was a heavenly finale to our meal. The sugar cookie ice cream sandwich with toasted marshmallow was a nostalgic treat elevated to gourmet heights, while the coconut custard pie with roasted pineapple was a tropical delight that left us craving more.
Also great for my 6 year old .. she loved her chicken fingers and fries.
Throughout our dining experience, the service and food at Red Horse was impeccable. Job well done, we can’t wait to come back again soon!

Upon inquiring with the individual on the phone regarding takeout orders, I was informed that they indeed accept such requests. I subsequently expressed my desire to order the Gem Caesar salad with chicken as the topping. I requested that the dressing and all other ingredients be mixed into the salad. The individual confirmed this request.
However, upon returning home, I discovered that the salad I had ordered was not prepared as requested. This oversight has left me perplexed, as I had explicitly stated my preference for takeout and had paid for the meal. I am curious about the distinction between dining in and taking out, as I had anticipated that my food would be prepared the way I would be a guest dining in.
This is the worst experience I’ve ever had!
When I dine in it’s always a great experience take out I feel like I getting a meal from the pizza shop.
