Order was delayed took about 45 min and I sat inside after i placed it. The food was lukewarm when I got it. I find it weird that you can’t even see whose cooking your food or how. No human interactions besides a black guy behind a window possibly security. There is some improvements that should be made. Okra was good could have been hotter. Cabbage was salty yams were not sweet. There were burnt hard pieces throughout in the peach cobbler also not sweet enough. Whiting was fishy no seasoning and not crispy soft to the touch. The sides aren’t worth what’s being charged could be less considering the small amount you receive. If I knew what type of food I was receiving I would have just cancelled my order considering how much I paid. I need to be refunded. Discarded mostly everything they should have never given someone scraps.

I can say me and my friend enjoyed this. But it wasn’t what I ordered. I wanted whiting Mac, rice and mashed potatoes. The Mac was a bit oily not creamy like yesterday. My friend loved the greens and the yams. The chicken is good. But baby was craving Fish. To whom ever got my order enjoy it for me baby. Merry Christmas lol but the corn bread is amazing!!

We had a positive first time experience at Soul 2 Go. The restaurant was packed. We were greeted & seated at a table by a friendly hostess in less than 2 minutes. Our friendly waitress , Brittany, took good care of us. She was kind, gave us attention, talked with us, & provided excellent service. Our appealing entrees arrived to our table hot! I had the delicious signature dish with crispy fried chicken, macaroni cheese, sweet candied yams, & collards! Everything was seasoned well. We also had the salmon entree, which was delicious.
We got a slice of the delicious pound cake and peach cobbler to go. We want to go back again before leaving our conference. We are happy South Carolina people & glad that we could support this business!

Got a Grubhub order. It was delicious. Fried Pork Chops were great and the Smothered Pork Chops were good. The Jerk Chicken is definitely spicy. The Chicken Breast is well seasoned and Yams were great. Will definitely return

I got the cubed steak meal with Mac and cheese and cabbage , as well as yams . The Mac and cheese and cabbage were okay but very dry . The cubed steak is extremely underdone (pink&red) and I am 5 months pregnant. The yams are super sweet to the point where you can barely taste anything but sugar . This was my worst experience yet at this place and I will not be ordering again .

The food was ok, I didn’t leave knowing I’m going back for more of what I’d had. The only thing I could see myself going back for is the fried cornbread, it was fire! But there was also disappointment in that, as well. The picture on the menu and online showed nice sized fried chicken tenders on top of the fried cornbread. The chicken we received, on top of our cornbread, looked like they took one chicken tender and filleted it to make three sad little tenders. I also had greens and yams. The yams weren’t yam’n. I like a juicy marinated yam and ours were a bit on the dry side. The greens were full of stems and not tender at all. I found myself chewing and discarding into my napkin, A LOT. Outside of that, the wings were well seasoned and good, the customer service was top tier, the smothered pork chops needed some seasoning, the live music was nice just too loud for such a small space, especially when trying to talk to our server and the Mac and cheese was good. I won’t say I’ll never go again because I may give it another shot but I definitely will order something else if I do return.

So, so disappointed! I’ve been here before so I know the food is good, so I wanted to bring my husband. BIG mistake. We waited 1 1/2 hours for our food and it never came. We watched 4 other tables leave before us and we waited as long as we could. I saw Columbus celebrities on the video pictures and wondered how long did they wait for their food? The music was good. The waitresses apologized for how long it was taking but still couldn’t give us a time when our food would be ready. They looked frustrated. It was cold in there. The only reason we stayed long was because of the singing. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone! It’s like they didn’t care. Left there and went to Olive Garden. Service and food were GREAT and on time. Our people have to do better if you want people to support your business.

My cousin is visiting from Charlotte. It was my first time eating there. We are very impressed with the service staff. They were helpful. The food was delicious. Portions were more than we could eat at one time. Bourbon, chicken, smothered pork chops, greens, mac & cheese, baked beans, fried okra, honey cornbread with chicken breast. One of the owners came over to check on us. We had the star treatment. Plus it was poetry night. A win win. The peach cobbler martini. Delicious!!!! Until next time.

Well I should’ve known it wouldn’t be good, because I went right before they closed. I love the extra food provided (I can imagine they needed to get rid of it) but sheesh the texture of the chicken was so bad . It definitely had been sitting all day and I’m sure was good earlier but. If your business is going to stay open late, that’s a convenience ! However, I think as consumers we’d all agree to have zero late night options if the quality is going to be ssa.

So good. Didn’t know you had to order the food to go at the Essex location , but it was worth it. After I drove around the building looking for a sign saying where to go, I finally came up to it. I was met with arrows on the side of the building that was pointing the way to the ” Pick up area .” I seen there were cars lined up gerting orders. So i got on the website and ordered. I signed up to get text alerts and was shortly notified after paying that my order was received and that they would text me when it was ready for pick up. 19 mins later, i received that text saying it’s ready . I pulled to the front of the building, which looked like a factory, and walked inside from up the ramp. I was met with a door to the front, and to the right was a long corridor that had an open area with a desk and 2 employees sitting there. There were plenty of tablets and what looks to be two kiosk machines to place orders to go . I also noticed there were lots of lockers on the wall with letters and numbers such as A1 , B5, and so forth. Im assuming this is where Doordasher picked food up as i was told that since i placed a personal order, my food was behind the counter where the employees were located. I received my order and asked if the utilities were inside as i requested and was told yes. I opened the brown paper bag that the food was in to see if all items were inside and they were. Including items i didn’t ask for as there was no area on the website to order condiments. So i was happy to see hot sauce and tartar.
I got the 2 smothered pork chops that were fried and covered in a brown gravy as well as 2 sides . The garlic mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. My uncle got 2 fried catfish filets seasoned to perfection with Mac & Cheese , homestyle green beans seasoned with onions, and some baked beans. All the items were well flavored & delicious as well as piping hot there was plenty of food. We had no complaints. Would highly recommend.
