I wanted to love this place, and in some ways I did — but the service just didn’t match the quality of the food and wine. One star is for the food itself: fresh, flavorful, and undeniably good. The other is for the women on staff who carried themselves with thoughtfulness and professionalism, which added warmth to the atmosphere. The wine selection also deserves a mention — excellent variety, quality pours, and truly one of the highlights of the evening.
Our party originally reserved for 10 guests but ended up with 12. Thankfully, we were already seated at a table that could accommodate us and just needed two extra chairs added at the ends. I notified both the server and the hosts of this early on. However, when the final two ladies arrived, we were met with the response, “Oh, so you do need two extra chairs.” That lack of attentiveness was frustrating, especially since the reservation had been made in advance.
All 12 of us were very satisfied with the taste of the food — there are definitely some real rock stars in the kitchen turning out great flavors. The presentation didn’t hit the mark, but I’ll take taste over presentation any day of the week. I also appreciated the intentional effort in how our entrées were brought out in sequence, so everyone at the table was served within moments of each other — a detail that didn’t go unnoticed. Truthfully, I would’ve loved to write a review centered around the taste of the food, but unfortunately, I have to put our disappointing service experience at the forefront.
From the start, the server never greeted me or the arriving guest, and only engaged after I asked for menus. Service throughout the night felt detached and inattentive. Our group ordered wine flights, which meant we each had three glasses at a time, yet I had to request that empty glasses be cleared on three separate occasions. Plates and drinks were also repeatedly handed across guests instead of being placed properly, which disrupted not only the flow of the meal but also our conversations. I even privately asked our server if they could please mention to the staff running food to be mindful of not reaching across patrons when setting down plates. Not long after that request, I was handed a glass of wine with the comment “Princess.”
Because our server had not established any kind of rapport or welcoming tone with our table, the remark felt dismissive and unprofessional. In another context, maybe it could have come across as playful — but paired with the inattentiveness we experienced all evening, it left a sour impression. It does make me wonder if the automatic 20% gratuity influenced the level of attentiveness we received.
The food and wine were undeniably good, and the intentional kindness of the women working was a bright spot. But overall, the service at our table fell short enough that, despite the flavors, I wouldn’t return.
XOXO,
“Princess”
From the moment we walked in, the service set the tone, warm, attentive, and effortlessly professional without hovering. It’s rare to feel both well cared for and relaxed, but they nailed that balance.
Everything we ordered was well executed, beautifully presented, and paced just right, no rushing, no long awkward gaps.
What stood out most was how intentional the entire experience felt. Nothing felt phoned in. The staff clearly takes pride in what they’re doing, and it shows in the details.
This is the kind of place you leave already thinking about when you’ll come back. Highly recommend for a date night, a catch-up with friends, or any evening where you want to feel taken care of without pretense.
Whipped ricotta was light, lemony and refreshing.
Pear and prosciutto honey flatbread was excellent and the rigatoni pasta dish was superb in flavor- they even split our portions for sharing.
