Excellent for breakfast and lunch. Wife had Nicoise Salad which she loved and I had the Boston clad chowder which was phenomenal followed up by a Croque Monsieur which was excellent.

We had a delicious brunch and the food was excellent and very fresh. The sourdough bread tasted freshly made and the portions were very generous. The staff was very gracious and attentive.

We had high hopes for El Vergel, but came away somewhat disappointed. Ambiance is reasonably attractive but nothing special with no real views from the sunken outdoor space. Service is friendly, but quite slow when we were there even though it wasn’t busy. Food was only ok. I had a fairly typical French onion soup, and my wife had the roasted beet salad, which she thought surprisingly bland. Three of us had the fillet mignon stroganoff with linguini and mushrooms. Reaction was mixed… I thought it was tasty, but the other two were disappointed by the quality of the fillet. My wife ordered the linguini in white wine sauce with shrimp and calamari. After a few tastes, she put down her fork in disgust, complaining about the flavourless, watery sauce and the paucity of seafood.
Our friends had been there before and were surprised about the quality of the food this time around. Perhaps it was just a bad day, but none of us are likely to return.

Loved the courtyard dining and the vintage jazz at low volume was just right. I wouldn’t recommend the fries with egg, but my friend’s spinach omelette was excellent, packed w flavorful spinach. I don’t know how they stay in business because of their unusual remote location but it’s a lovely spot if you’re outside of town.

Who knew you could feel like you are in a French countryside bistro in the middle of Mexico! Ambiance is lovely. Service is attentive and responsive. Food was great
French Onion soup was delicious. Quiche was one of the best I have ever had. The rib eye sandwich was full of amazing flavours.
